Dynamic integration of context model constraints in web service processes

    Get PDF
Autonomic Web service composition has been a challenging topic for some years. The context in which composition takes places determines essential aspects. A context model can provide meaningful composition information for services process composition. An ontology-based approach for context information integration is the basis of a constraint approach to dynamically integrate context validation into service processes. The dynamic integration of context constraints into an orchestrated service process is a necessary direction to achieve autonomic service composition

Validation of a finite element model for fracture mechanics specimens

Single parameter formulations have shown to be insufficient to describe constraint effects in fracture mechanics specimens. This has lead researchers to a two parameter approach like the J-Q theory. In order to investigate constraint effects, the authors have developed a generic finite element model. Prior to drawing conclusions this model must first be validated, which is the topic of this paper. This validation has been done by comparing analytical expressions of the J-integral with those obtained from the performed simulations. The compared geometries were center cracked tension (CCT) and double edge notched tension (DENT) fracture mechanics specimens. The results showed good agreement with the analytical expressions and, as such, the model can now be confidently applied to determine values of the J-integral. This is a first step towards evaluating two parameter J-Q constraint

This study was conducted to investigate the properness of learning media by using specimen ofinvertebrate and vertebrate in topic of animals world at ten grade of Senior High School based onthe result of validation by the expert team and the students responses. This study was conducted inMarch to December 2015. This study used a developing research (Research & Development)based on Dick and Carey model which modified. Data collection was conducted by providingquestionnaires and in analyzing the data by descriptive analysis. The results of this research showsthat the learning media by using specimen of invertebrate and vertebrate in topic of animals worldat teen grade of Senior High School is very good criteria, based on validation of contents experts(92.50%), validation of media experts (82.99%), the individual (89.58%), small group (89.17%)and a field (89.30%) the result is very good criteria

Assessing corporate financial distress in South Africa

This study develops a bankruptcy prediction model for South African companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The model is of considerable efficiency and the findings reported extend bankruptcy literature to developing countries. 64 financial ratios for 28 companies, grouped into failed and non-failed companies, were tested using multiple discriminant analysis after conducting normality tests. Three variables were found to be significant which are: Times Interest Earned, Cash to Debt and Working Capital to Turnover. The model correctly classified about 75% of failed and non-failed in the original and cross validation procedures. This study went on to conduct an external validation of the model superiority by introducing a sample of failed companies, which showed that the model predictive accuracy is more than chance. Despite the popularity of the topic among researchers this study highlighted the importance and relevance of the topic to corporate managers, policy makers and to investors especially in a developing market perspective, thereby contributing significantly towards understanding the factors that lead to corporate bankruptcy

The background of this study is the lack of ICT-based learning media especially on geometry in the topic of circle. The topic of circle has potency to be developed visually by using a computer device to facilitate students to understand this topic. This study used Borg and Gall's model that was modified by Sugiyono. The aim of this study is to develop valid and practical ICT-based media for learning mathematics to facilitate the 8th grade junior high school students to understand the topic of circle. The subjects were 35 students at 8th grade Junior High School 20 Pekanbaru. The instruments used were a questionnaire sheet for content validation, media validation and student responses. The questionnaires sheets were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The analyzed data and discussion showed that ICT-based media for learning mathematics is valid with an average score of 3.16 by content validator and 2.85 by media validator. This media is also qualified and practical with an average of student responses was 0.98 on a small group test and 0.93 in the big group

Learning inquiry model is one that promotes learning model to be able to find problem and can solve the problem independently. Phase inquiry model there are six stages: the orientation phase, the phase of formulating the problem, proposed a hypothesis phase, the phase of collecting data, hypothesis testing phase, and the phase of formulating its conclusions. The validity of student worksheet based on the 3 specialist validation. There were two student worksheet developed, that are student worksheet 1 discussing the topic of katabolism and student worksheet 2 discussing the topic of anabolism. The research was 4-D models that are define, design, develop and disseminate stage was not implemented. Data analysis of the validation result was done theoretically and empirically. Validation results indicate that the developed of student worksheet was categorized very valid with the persentage reaches 3.65 for student worksheets 1 and 3.68 for student worksheet 2. Skill of process outcomes showed that students experience increased science of N-gain obtained 0.70 which was categorized as high. The percentage of total students who reached minimal completeness of criteria (complete) at the posttest obtained 95% with minimal completeness of criteria 75 and the completeness of indicators obtained 81,5% complete of 7 indicators at the posttest. Keywords: The Student’s Worksheet (LKPD), Inquiry Model, Process Skills, Metabolis
