Modeling of Social Transitions Using Intelligent Systems
In this study, we reproduce two new hybrid intelligent systems, involve three
prominent intelligent computing and approximate reasoning methods: Self
Organizing feature Map (SOM), Neruo-Fuzzy Inference System and Rough Set Theory
(RST),called SONFIS and SORST. We show how our algorithms can be construed as a
linkage of government-society interactions, where government catches various
states of behaviors: solid (absolute) or flexible. So, transition of society,
by changing of connectivity parameters (noise) from order to disorder is
inferred
Analysing imperfect temporal information in GIS using the Triangular Model
Rough set and fuzzy set are two frequently used approaches for modelling and reasoning about imperfect time intervals. In this paper, we focus on imperfect time intervals that can be modelled by rough sets and use an innovative graphic model [i.e. the triangular model (TM)] to represent this kind of imperfect time intervals. This work shows that TM is potentially advantageous in visualizing and querying imperfect time intervals, and its analytical power can be better exploited when it is implemented in a computer application with graphical user interfaces and interactive functions. Moreover, a probabilistic framework is proposed to handle the uncertainty issues in temporal queries. We use a case study to illustrate how the unique insights gained by TM can assist a geographical information system for exploratory spatio-temporal analysis
Rough CAT(0) spaces
We investigate various notions of rough CAT(0). These conditions define
classes of spaces that strictly include the union of all Gromov hyperbolic
length spaces and all CAT(0) spaces.Comment: Corrected typos and updated Corollaries 3.22 and 3.2
On the differentiability of Cauchy horizons
Chrusciel and Galloway constructed a Cauchy horizon that is nondifferentiable
on a dense set. We prove that in a certain class of Cauchy horizons densely
nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons are generic. We show that our class of
densely nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons implies the existence of densely
nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons arising from partial Cauchy surfaces and also
the existence of densely nondifferentiable black hole event horizons.Comment: 9 pages, LaTe
