    Understanding the UK hospital supply chain in an era of patient choice

Subsequently, the hospital system should become far more competitive with supply chains having to react to these changes as patient demand becomes less predictable. Using a qualitative case study methodology, hospital managers are interviewed on a range of issues. Views on the development of the hospital supply chain in different phases are derived, and are used to develop a map of the current hospital chain. The findings show hospital managers anticipating some significant changes to the hospital supply chain and its workings as Patient Choice expands. The research also maps the various aspects of the hospital supply chain as it moves through different operational phases and highlights underlying challenges and complexities. The hospital supply chain, as discussed and mapped in this research, is original work given there are no examples in the literature that provide holistic representations of hospital activity. At the end, specific recommendations are provided that will be of interest to service to managers, researchers, and policymakers

    Revealing the Vicious Circle of Disengaged User Acceptance: A SaaS Provider's Perspective

    User acceptance tests (UAT) are an integral part of many different software engineering methodologies. In this paper, we examine the influence of UATs on the relationship between users and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, which are continuously delivered rather than rolled out during a one-off signoff process. Based on an exploratory qualitative field study at a multinational SaaS provider in Denmark, we show that UATs often address the wrong problem in that positive user acceptance may actually indicate a negative user experience. Hence, SaaS providers should be careful not to rest on what we term disengaged user acceptance. Instead, we outline an approach that purposefully queries users for ambivalent emotions that evoke constructive criticism, in order to facilitate a discourse that favors the continuous innovation of a SaaS system. We discuss theoretical and practical implications of our approach for the study of user engagement in testing SaaS applications

A service provider company needs a management concept to be able to improve quality and profit of company. Lean Manufacturing is an effective concept to improve quality and to increase the profitability in a production process. In the process of manufacturing and engineering can use lean manufacturing concept because this concept can reduce waste from materials, production process and time for job completion. One of lean manufacturing concept is to reduce waste, commonly there are 8 wastes need to be reduced in production process. The 8 wastes are; Defect, over production, Waiting, None utilizes talent, Transport, Inventory, Motion, Excessive process. Engineering service provider company will implement this lean manufacturing concept on determining work shop layout, raw material pre-order stage, production stage, controlling stage until delivery stage all the action must suitable with engineering service provider company, and by implementing this concept to get more profit by producing product with optimum production cost and also will get trust from customer to make repeat order. Every company requires a proper management concept and also continuous improvement on its production process to get quality product and company profit so their business will sustain in the future
