Observation of B+ ---> a(1)+(1260) K0 and B0 ---> a(1)-(1260) K+
We present branching fraction measurements of the decays B^{+} -> a1(1260)^{+} K^{0} and B^{0} to a1(1260)^{-} K^{+} with a1(1260)^{+} -> pi^{-} pi^{+} pi^{+}. The data sample corresponds to 383 million B B-bar pairs produced in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation through the Y(4S) resonance. We measure the products of the branching fractions:
B(B^{+}-> a1(1260)^{+} K^{0})B(a1(1260)^{+} -> pi^{-} pi^{+} pi^{+}) = (17.4 +/- 2.5 +/- 2.2) 10^{-6}
B(B^{0}-> a1(1260)^{-} K^{+})B(a1(1260)^{-} -> pi^{+} pi^{-} pi^{-}) = (8.2 +/- 1.5 +/- 1.2) 10^{-6}.
We also measure the charge asymmetries A_{ch}(B^{+} -> a1(1260)^{+} K^{0})= 0.12 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.02 and A_{ch}(B^{0} -> a1(1260)^{-} K^{+})= -0.16 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.01. The first uncertainty quoted is statistical and the second is systematic
Observation of in decays
We report the first observation of and
evidence for . We measure the product of
branching fractions for the former to be {\cal B}(B^0 \to X(3872) (K^+ \pi^-))
\times {\cal B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) = (7.9 \pm 1.3(\mbox{stat.})\pm
0.4(\mbox{syst.})) \times 10^{-6} and find that does not dominate the decay
mode. We also measure {\cal B}(B^+ \to X(3872) (K^0 \pi^+)) \times {\cal
B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) = (10.6 \pm 3.0(\mbox{stat.}) \pm
0.9(\mbox{syst.})) \times 10^{-6}. This study is based on the full data sample
of 711~fb ( pairs) collected at the
resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
Phase Motion in the Scalar Low-Mass pi+pi- Amplitude in D+ -> pi-pi+pi+ Decay
Applying the Amplitude Difference method to Fermilab experiment E791 D+ ->
pi-pi+pi+ data, we measure the low mass pi+pi- phase motion. Our results
suggest a significant phase variation, compatible with the existence of an
isoscalar sigma(500) meson, as previously reported using an isobar model fit to
the full Dalitz-plot density.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures Accepted for publication at PL
Study of and dipion transitions in decays to lower bottomonia
We study hadronic transitions between bottomonium states using 496 fb
data collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the
KEKB asymmetric energy collider. We measure: , , and . We measure the ratio of branching fractions . We search for the decay
, but do not find significant evidence
for such a transition. We also measure the initial state radiation production
cross sections of the resonances and we find values
compatible with the expected ones. Finally, the analysis of the
events shows indications for a resonant
contribution due to the meson.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, 6 tables. Submitted to PR
Measurements of Branching Ratios
Using data collected by the fixed target Fermilab experiment FOCUS, we
measure the branching ratios of the Cabibbo favored decays , , and relative to to be
, , and ,
respectively. We report the first observation of the Cabibbo suppressed decay
and we measure the branching ratio relative to
to be . We also set 90%
confidence level upper limits for and relative to to
be 0.12 and 0.05, respectively. We find an indication of the decays and and set
90% confidence level upper limits for the branching ratios with respect to
to be 0.12 and 1.72, respectively. Finally, we
determine the 90% C.L. upper limit for the resonant contribution relative to to be 0.10.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figure
