Extended convergence analysis of Newton-Potra solver for equations

    Get PDF
In the paper a local and a semi-local convergence of combined iterative process for solving nonlinear operator equations is investigated. This solver is built based on Newton solver and has R-convergence order 1.839.... The radius of the convergence ball and convergence order of the investigated solver are determined in an earlier paper. Modifications of previous conditions leads to extended convergence domain. These advantages are obtained under the same computational effort. Numerical experiments are carried out on the test examples with nondifferentiable operator

The Convergence Ball and Error Analysis of the Relaxed Secant Method

    Get PDF
A relaxed secant method is proposed. Radius estimate of the convergence ball of the relaxed secant method is attained for the nonlinear equation systems with Lipschitz continuous divided differences of first order. The error estimate is also established with matched convergence order. From the radius and error estimate, the relation between the radius and the speed of convergence is discussed with parameter. At last, some numerical examples are given

Local convergence analysis of frozen Steffensen-type methods under generalized conditions

    Get PDF
The goal in this study is to present a unified local convergence analysis of frozen Steffensen-type methods under generalized Lipschitz-type conditions for Banach space valued operators. We also use our new idea of restricted convergence domains, where we find a more precise location, where the iterates lie leading to at least as tight majorizing functions. Consequently, the new convergence criteria are weaker than in earlier works resulting to the expansion of the applicability of these methods. The conditions do not necessarily imply the differentiability of the operator involved. This way our method is suitable for solving equations and systems of equations

Extending the solvability of equations using secant-type methods in Banach space

We extend the solvability of equations dened on a Banach space using numerically ecient secant-type methods. The convergence domain of these methods is enlarged using our new idea of restricted convergence region. By using this approach, we obtain a more precise location where the iterates lie than in earlier studies leading to tighter Lipschitz constants. This way the semi-local convergence produces weaker sucient convergence criteria and tighter error bounds than in earlier works. These improvements are also obtained under the same computational eort, since the new Lipschitz constants are special cases of the old ones
