Automated Test Sequence Optimization Based on the Maze Algorithm and Ant Colony Algorithm
With the rapid development of China train operation and control system, validity and safety of behavioral functions of the system have attracted much attention in the railway domain. In this paper, an automated test sequence optimization method was presented from the system functional requirement specification of the high-speed railway. To overcome the local optimum of traditional ant colony algorithm, the maze algorithm is integrated with the ant colony algorithm to achieve the dynamical learning capacity and improve the adaptation capacity to the complex and changeable environment, and therefore, this algorithm can produce the optimal searching results. Several key railway operation scenarios are selected as the representative functional scenarios and Colored Petri Nets (CPN) is used to model the scenarios. After the CPN model is transformed into the extensible markup language (XML) model, the improved ant colony algorithm is employed to generate the optimal sequences. The shortest searching paths are found and the redundant test sequences are reduced based on the natural law of ants foraging. Finally, the Radio Blocking Center (RBC) test platform is designed and used to validate the optimal sequence. Testing results show that the proposed method is able to optimize the test sequences and improve the test efficiency successfully

Using group role assignment to solve Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem
The Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem (DVRP) is a more complex problem than the traditional
Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) in the combinatorial optimization of operations research. With
more degrees of freedom, DVRP introduces new challenges while judging the merit of a given
route plan.
This thesis utilized the time slice strategy to solve dynamic and deterministic routing
problems. Based on Group Role Assignment (GRA) and two different routing methods (Modified
Insertion heuristic routing and Modified Composite Pairing Or-opt routing), a new ridesharing
system has been designed to provide services in the real world.
Simulation results are presented in this thesis. A qualitative comparison has been made to
outline the advantages and performance of our solution framework. From the numerical results,
the proposed method has a great potential to put into operation in the real world and provides a
new transit option for the public.Master of Science (MSc) in Computational Scienc
An intelligent multi-floor mobile robot transportation system in life science laboratories
In this dissertation, a new intelligent multi-floor transportation system based on mobile robot is presented to connect the distributed laboratories in multi-floor environment. In the system, new indoor mapping and localization are presented, hybrid path planning is proposed, and an automated doors management system is presented. In addition, a hybrid strategy with innovative floor estimation to handle the elevator operations is implemented. Finally the presented system controls the working processes of the related sub-system. The experiments prove the efficiency of the presented system
Automated retinal layer segmentation and pre-apoptotic monitoring for three-dimensional optical coherence tomography
The aim of this PhD thesis was to develop segmentation algorithm adapted and optimized to retinal OCT data that will provide objective 3D layer thickness which might be used to improve diagnosis and monitoring of retinal pathologies. Additionally, a 3D stack registration method was produced by modifying an existing algorithm. A related project was to develop a pre-apoptotic retinal monitoring based on the changes in texture parameters of the OCT scans in order to enable treatment before the changes become irreversible; apoptosis refers to the programmed cell death that can occur in retinal tissue and lead to blindness. These issues can be critical for the examination of tissues within the central nervous system. A novel statistical model for segmentation has been created and successfully applied to a large data set. A broad range of future research possibilities into advanced pathologies has been created by the results obtained. A separate model has been created for choroid segmentation located deep in retina, as the appearance of choroid is very different from the top retinal layers. Choroid thickness and structure is an important index of various pathologies (diabetes etc.). As part of the pre-apoptotic monitoring project it was shown that an increase in proportion of apoptotic cells in vitro can be accurately quantified. Moreover, the data obtained indicates a similar increase in neuronal scatter in retinal explants following axotomy (removal of retinas from the eye), suggesting that UHR-OCT can be a novel non-invasive technique for the in vivo assessment of neuronal health. Additionally, an independent project within the computer science department in collaboration with the school of psychology has been successfully carried out, improving analysis of facial dynamics and behaviour transfer between individuals. Also, important improvements to a general signal processing algorithm, dynamic time warping (DTW), have been made, allowing potential application in a broad signal processing field.EThOS - Electronic Theses Online ServiceGBUnited Kingdo
Simulated Annealing
The book contains 15 chapters presenting recent contributions of top researchers working with Simulated Annealing (SA). Although it represents a small sample of the research activity on SA, the book will certainly serve as a valuable tool for researchers interested in getting involved in this multidisciplinary field. In fact, one of the salient features is that the book is highly multidisciplinary in terms of application areas since it assembles experts from the fields of Biology, Telecommunications, Geology, Electronics and Medicine
High-speed Train Control System Big Data Analysis Based on the Fuzzy RDF model and Uncertain Reasoning
China high-speed train control system is a combination of computer, communication and control. Its events are diverse, including sensor data stream, GPS signal, GSM-R transmission data, real-time video monitoring data, train control software data, etc. These data have the typical characteristics of big data. If these data are well applied, this will be of great help to operations, maintenance, safety, passenger services, etc. This paper presents an efficient analysis method based on the fuzzy RDF model and uncertain reasoning for high-speed train control system big data. We have used the method proposed in this paper to analyze the data of the high-speed train control system. The experiment results show that the method proposed in this paper has good efficiency and scalability for the analysis of big data with different structures, types and context sensitive from high-speed train control system
