    On the relation between the base of an EI algebra and word graphs

    A Review of the Family of Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithms: Recent Advances and Applications

    The Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm (AFSA) is inspired by the ecological behaviors of fish schooling in nature, viz., the preying, swarming, following and random behaviors. Owing to a number of salient properties, which include flexibility, fast convergence, and insensitivity to the initial parameter settings, the family of AFSA has emerged as an effective Swarm Intelligence (SI) methodology that has been widely applied to solve real-world optimization problems. Since its introduction in 2002, many improved and hybrid AFSA models have been developed to tackle continuous, binary, and combinatorial optimization problems. This paper aims to present a concise review of the family of AFSA, encompassing the original ASFA and its improvements, continuous, binary, discrete, and hybrid models, as well as the associated applications. A comprehensive survey on the AFSA from its introduction to 2012 can be found in [1]. As such, we focus on a total of {\color{blue}123} articles published in high-quality journals since 2013. We also discuss possible AFSA enhancements and highlight future research directions for the family of AFSA-based models.Comment: 37 pages, 3 figure

    A supplier selection using a hybrid grey based hierarchical clustering and artificial bee colony

    Selection of one or a combination of the most suitable potential providers and outsourcing problem is the most important strategies in logistics and supply chain management. In this paper, selection of an optimal combination of suppliers in inventory and supply chain management are studied and analyzed via multiple attribute decision making approach, data mining and evolutionary optimization algorithms. For supplier selection in supply chain, hierarchical clustering according to the studied indexes first clusters suppliers. Then, according to its cluster, each supplier is evaluated through Grey Relational Analysis. Then the combination of suppliers’ Pareto optimal rank and costs are obtained using Artificial Bee Colony meta-heuristic algorithm. A case study is conducted for a better description of a new algorithm to select a multiple source of suppliers

    A new data-driven neural fuzzy system with collaborative fuzzy clustering mechanism

    © 2015 Elsevier B.V. In this paper, a novel fuzzy rule transfer mechanism for self-constructing neural fuzzy inference networks is being proposed. The features of the proposed method, termed data-driven neural fuzzy system with collaborative fuzzy clustering mechanism (DDNFS-CFCM) are; (1) Fuzzy rules are generated facilely by fuzzy c-means (FCM) and then adapted by the preprocessed collaborative fuzzy clustering (PCFC) technique, and (2) Structure and parameter learning are performed simultaneously without selecting the initial parameters. The DDNFS-CFCM can be applied to deal with big data problems by the virtue of the PCFC technique, which is capable of dealing with immense datasets while preserving the privacy and security of datasets. Initially, the entire dataset is organized into two individual datasets for the PCFC procedure, where each of the dataset is clustered separately. The knowledge of prototype variables (cluster centers) and the matrix of just one halve of the dataset through collaborative technique are deployed. The DDNFS-CFCM is able to achieve consistency in the presence of collective knowledge of the PCFC and boost the system modeling process by parameter learning ability of the self-constructing neural fuzzy inference networks (SONFIN). The proposed method outperforms other existing methods for time series prediction problems

    Aggregation functions for typical hesitant fuzzy elements and the action of automorphisms

    This work studies the aggregation operators on the set of all possible membership degrees of typical hesitant fuzzy sets, which we refer to as H, as well as the action of H-automorphisms which are defined over the set of all finite non-empty subsets of the unitary interval. In order to do so, the partial order ≤H, based on α-normalization, is introduced, leading to a comparison based on selecting the greatest membership degrees of the related fuzzy sets. Additionally, the idea of interval representation is extended to the context of typical hesitant aggregation functions named as the H-representation. As main contribution, we consider the class of finite hesitant triangular norms, studying their properties and analyzing the H-conjugate functions over such operators. © 2013 Elsevier Inc.     Global Chassis Control System Using Suspension, Steering, and Braking Subsystems

    A novel Global Chassis Control (GCC) system based on a multilayer architecture with three levels: top: decision layer, middle: control layer, and bottom: system layer is presented. The main contribution of this work is the development of a data-based classification and coordination algorithm, into a single control problem. Based on a clustering technique, the decision layer classifies the current driving condition. Afterwards, heuristic rules are used to coordinate the performance of the considered vehicle subsystems (suspension, steering, and braking) using local controllers hosted in the control layer. The control allocation system uses fuzzy logic controllers. The performance of the proposed GCC system was evaluated under different standard tests. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed system compared to an uncontrolled vehicle and a vehicle with a noncoordinated control. The proposed system decreases by 14% the braking distance in the hard braking test with respect to the uncontrolled vehicle, the roll and yaw movements are reduced by 10% and 12%, respectively, in the Double Line Change test, and the oscillations caused by load transfer are reduced by 7% in a cornering situation

    Adaptive Fuzzy Learning Superpixel Representation for PolSAR Image Classification

    The increasing applications of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification demand for effective superpixels’ algorithms. Fuzzy superpixels’ algorithms reduce the misclassification rate by dividing pixels into superpixels, which are groups of pixels of homogenous appearance and undetermined pixels. However, two key issues remain to be addressed in designing a fuzzy superpixel algorithm for PolSAR image classification. First, the polarimetric scattering information, which is unique in PolSAR images, is not effectively used. Such information can be utilized to generate superpixels more suitable for PolSAR images. Second, the ratio of undetermined pixels is fixed for each image in the existing techniques, ignoring the fact that the difficulty of classifying different objects varies in an image. To address these two issues, we propose a polarimetric scattering information-based adaptive fuzzy superpixel (AFS) algorithm for PolSAR images classification. In AFS, the correlation between pixels’ polarimetric scattering information, for the first time, is considered through fuzzy rough set theory to generate superpixels. This correlation is further used to dynamically and adaptively update the ratio of undetermined pixels. AFS is evaluated extensively against different evaluation metrics and compared with the state-of-the-art superpixels’ algorithms on three PolSAR images. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of AFS on PolSAR image classification problems
