The Potential of Digital Tools in Art Lessons at Junior School Level to Improve Artistic Ability Using Tamazight Fonts
The aim of this research is to explore how pupils in art classes can use creative digital art tools to redesign Tamazight fonts, in order to develop childrenâs artistic creativity, enable them to learn about a new culture, and to help the teacher assess the creativity of pupils in the art class. It can also help students to improve their talents in drawing. The study could relate to research in Libya among the Amazigh people (better known as Berber) and possibly the development of Tamazight fonts with new uses in art. The research involved students aged 9-10 years old working with digital art tools, and was designed to explore the potential of digital technology by discovering suitable tools and techniques to develop childrenâs artistic performance using Tamazight fonts. The project also sought to show the aesthetic aspects of these characters and to stimulate the artistic creativity of these young people

A systematic review of pedagogical approaches that can effectively include children with special educational needs in mainstream classrooms with a particular focus on peer group interactive approaches
The broad background to this review is a long history of concepts of special pupils and special education, and a faith in special pedagogical approaches. The rise of inclusive schools and some important critiques of special pedagogy (e.g. Hart, 1996; Norwich and Lewis, 2001; Thomas and Loxley, 2001) have raised the profile of teaching approaches that ordinary teachers can and do use to include children with special educational needs in mainstream classrooms. Inclusive education itself is increasingly conceived as being about the quality of learning and participation that goes on in inclusive schools rather than simplistic matters of where children are place

THE ROLE AND EFFECT OF MULTIMEDIA BASED HEALTH ANDWELLBEING AWARENESS PACKAGES FOR CHILDREN ANDYOUTH
Wellbeing is generally understood as the quality of peopleâs lives. Promoting well-being and public health awareness involves understanding and addressing adults as well as children and young people. The effect of wellbeing education programs on children depends on the method and style in which the information is transmitted. In spite of many conventional methods like small group discussions, large school assemblies, or lecture workshops are addressed, initiative steps could be taken developing a multimedia packages that would be able to assist children in increasing their knowledge and awareness on public health and wellbeing. This paper reports the findings of using multimedia packages in increasing the knowledge and perceived awareness of children on nutrition and physical health. The study was conducted with a sample of 30 children aged 10 â 12 years, traditional Lectures and discussions were held for 15 children (the traditional lectures group), while Multimedia packages program was applied to the other 15 children (Post-test group), both for 4 sessions over a period of 4 weeks. It was found that the childrenâs nutrition & physical health perception and health-promoting behavior scores were higher at a significant level in the Post-test group. In particular, health-promoting behavior scores in the Post-test group were higher by 21%. The results indicate that nutrition & physical health perception and promoting health behaviors among children was increased after they were exposed to multimedia applications. The aim of this paper is to empower users and decision makers to make informed technological choices and to actively participate in the exploitation and developing of Multimedia programs in the health sector
Wild beasts and other curiosities: West Australian research, issues and innovations in early childhood education
Editorial Is it true that young children need to play more, that perceptual-motor programs don\u27t work, or that schools can learn lessons from child care? Do you know how to turn children into \u27greenies\u27, help them express the wild beast within, or use computers to develop vital skills? If you\u27re unsure, outraged, confused or curious, then this book is for you! Practitioners and academics in early childhood have written these papers for the Edith Cowan Memorial Conference for Early Childhood in 1996. The chapters are diverse in style and topic, but are linked by the authors\u27 deep interest in the education and welfare of children 0-8 in Western Australia. Some papers broach new and controversial topics, while others cast new light on old favourites. Many topics are complex, and few answers are clear-cut. Some chapters report current projects, and represent the growing number of practitioners who are refining their skills as researchers. Skimming down the contents pages, it is easy to see why the challenges of early childhood are increasing. Practitioners are expected to do a great deal, and to know a great deal, and the knowledge base keeps changing and expanding
Technology and literacy in early childhood educational settings: a review of research
This literature review provides an overview of research into technology and literacy for children aged 0-8 in educational settings from 2003-2009. The paper begins by exploring the different assumptions about the role of digital texts that underpin the studies considered, identifying three loose categories of studies which position technology as: deliverer of literacy; site for interaction around texts; and medium for meaning-making. Following this, actor-network theory (Latour, 2005) is used to consider other ways that technology and children may be âacting uponâ literacy in educational settings through recontexualising meanings from other domains. The paper concludes by arguing that there is a need for more extensive exploratory research in this field, which considers how digital practices within educational settings relate to other dimensions of childrenâs literacy learning, in order to better understand how new technologies are and could be contributing to childrenâs literacy within educational settings. It also suggests that actor-network theory may offer a way of destabilising the assumptions that frame research into young childrenâs engagement with new technologies in order to conceptualise this in new ways
