The choice between delta and shift operators for low-precision data representation
Low-precision data types for embedded applications reduce the power consumption and enhance the price-performance ratio. Inconsistence between the specified accuracy of a designed filter or controller and an imprecise data type can be overcome using the δ-operator, an alternative to the traditional discrete-time z-operator. Though in many cases it significantly increases accuracy, sometimes it shows no advantage over the shift operator. So the problem of choice between delta and shift operator arises. Therefore, a study on δ-operator applicability bounds is needed to solve this problem and provide δ-operator efficient practical use. In this paper we introduce a concept of the δ-operator applicability criterion. The discrete system implementation technique with discrete-time operator choice is given for the low-precision machine arithmetic
Quantitative Relativistic Effects in the Three-Nucleon Problem
The quantitative impact of the requirement of relativistic invariance in the
three-nucleon problem is examined within the framework of Poincar\'e invariant
quantum mechanics. In the case of the bound state, and for a wide variety of
model implementations and reasonable interactions, most of the quantitative
effects come from kinematic factors that can easily be incorporated within a
non-relativistic momentum-space three-body code.Comment: 15 pages, 15 figure
Prescriptions in Loop Quantum Cosmology: A comparative analysis
Various prescriptions proposed in the literature to attain the polymeric
quantization of a homogeneous and isotropic flat spacetime coupled to a
massless scalar field are carefully analyzed in order to discuss their
differences. A detailed numerical analysis confirms that, for states which are
not deep in the quantum realm, the expectation values and dispersions of some
natural observables of interest in cosmology are qualitatively the same for all
the considered prescriptions. On the contrary, the amplitude of the wave
functions of those states differs considerably at the bounce epoch for these
prescriptions. This difference cannot be absorbed by a change of
representation. Finally, the prescriptions with simpler superselection sectors
are clearly more efficient from the numerical point of view.Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures, RevTex4-1 + BibTe
Time-Sliced Perturbation Theory II: Baryon Acoustic Oscillations and Infrared Resummation
We use time-sliced perturbation theory (TSPT) to give an accurate description
of the infrared non-linear effects affecting the baryonic acoustic oscillations
(BAO) present in the distribution of matter at very large scales. In TSPT this
can be done via a systematic resummation that has a simple diagrammatic
representation and does not involve uncontrollable approximations. We discuss
the power counting rules and derive explicit expressions for the resummed
matter power spectrum up to next-to leading order and the bispectrum at the
leading order. The two-point correlation function agrees well with N-body data
at BAO scales. The systematic approach also allows to reliably assess the shift
of the baryon acoustic peak due to non-linear effects.Comment: 38 pages + 24 pages of appendices and references, 8 figures;

First Order Relativistic Three-Body Scattering
Relativistic Faddeev equations for three-body scattering at arbitrary
energies are formulated in momentum space and in first order in the two-body
transition-operator directly solved in terms of momentum vectors without
employing a partial wave decomposition. Relativistic invariance is incorporated
within the framework of Poincare invariant quantum mechanics, and presented in
some detail.
Based on a Malfliet-Tjon type interaction, observables for elastic and
break-up scattering are calculated up to projectile energies of 1 GeV. The
influence of kinematic and dynamic relativistic effects on those observables is
systematically studied. Approximations to the two-body interaction embedded in
the three-particle space are compared to the exact treatment.Comment: 26 pages, 13 figure
