This report presents a set of results for different microbenchmarks and applications on the Intel Xeon Platinum8160 Processor, formerly known as Skylake. For simplicity, we will use both Skylake and SKX to refer to this processor. We use the Skylake nodes that will be available in Stampede2. This systemwill provide Intel Knights Landing and Skylake chips interconnected by a 100 Gb/sec Intel Omni-Path (OPA) network with a fat tree topology. Using Evaluation to Improve Grantmaking: What's Good for the Goose is Good for the Grantor

Over the past decade, evaluation has become an increasingly prominent (albeit vexing) function within philanthropy. More and more foundations are beginning to devote at least minimal levels of resources to evaluate the programs they fund. The topic of evaluation appears more and more at professional conferences. Membership in Grantmakers Evaluation Network -- an "affinity group" of foundation representatives interested in promoting evaluation -- has mushroomed to over 400. As the "demand" for evaluation has increased among foundations, the market has begun to fill up with a mixed bag of consultants (from both academia and the private sector) willing to supply their services. Particularly this last indicator suggests that evaluation will take root in the philanthropic sector. Yet, although evaluation is becoming a more popular activity among foundations, its potential is far from being realized

Exploring haptic interfacing with a mobile robot without visual feedback

Search and rescue scenarios are often complicated by low or no visibility conditions. The lack of visual feedback hampers orientation and causes significant stress for human rescue workers. The Guardians project [1] pioneered a group of autonomous mobile robots assisting a human rescue worker operating within close range. Trials were held with fire fighters of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. The most critical issue in environment protection and natural resource conservation is waste management [1]. Changes in environment and an increase in population are the main causes of the many processes of deterioration which have altered the ecosystem of our planet, including the generation of municipal solid waste (MFS) [2]. Therefore, there is a need to reuse waste to create a greener and healthier place on earth. The usage of agricultural waste will be emphasized in this research. Being renewable, low-cost, lightweight, having high specific strength and stiffness have made agricultural waste ideal for use as construction materials [3]. Coconut shell, oil palm shell, oil palm clinker, corncob ash, and rice husk ash are all agricultural by-products. Although some of these materials can be used as animal feed or fuel in biomass power plants or boilers of various industrial sectors to produce steam, a lot of these materials are still disposed off into landfills or burnt. This leads to serious environmental problems..
