Philosophy of Blockchain Technology - Ontologies
About the necessity and usefulness of developing a philosophy specific to the blockchain technology, emphasizing on the ontological aspects. After an Introduction that highlights the main philosophical directions for this emerging technology, in Blockchain Technology I explain the way the blockchain works, discussing ontological development directions of this technology in Designing and Modeling. The next section is dedicated to the main application of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, with the social implications of this cryptocurrency. There follows a section of Philosophy in which I identify the blockchain technology with the concept of heterotopia developed by Michel Foucault and I interpret it in the light of the notational technology developed by Nelson Goodman as a notational system. In the Ontology section, I present two developmental paths that I consider important: Narrative Ontology, based on the idea of order and structure of history transmitted through Paul Ricoeur's narrative history, and the Enterprise Ontology system based on concepts and models of an enterprise, specific to the semantic web, and which I consider to be the most well developed and which will probably become the formal ontological system, at least in terms of the economic and legal aspects of blockchain technology. In Conclusions I am talking about the future directions of developing the blockchain technology philosophy in general as an explanatory and robust theory from a phenomenologically consistent point of view, which allows testability and ontologies in particular, arguing for the need of a global adoption of an ontological system for develop cross-cutting solutions and to make this technology profitable.

Blockchain Enterprise Ontologies: TOVE and DEMO
Enterprise ontology for blockchain transactions includes datalogical, infological and essential levels. OntoClean analyzes ontologies based on formal, domain-independent properties (metaproperties), being the first attempt to formalize the notion of ontological analysis for computer systems. The notions are extracted from the philosophical ontology. In the semantic web, a property is a binary relationship, with a subtle distinction between ownership and class. Thus, a metaproperty is a property of a property or a class. The design of ontology can be done when there is a basic understanding of the blockchain analysis.

Referent tracking for corporate memories
For corporate memory and enterprise ontology systems to be maximally useful,
they must be freed from certain barriers placed around them by traditional
knowledge management paradigms. This means, above all, that they must mirror
more faithfully those portions of reality which are salient to the workings of the
enterprise, including the changes that occur with the passage of time. The purpose
of this chapter is to demonstrate how theories based on philosophical realism can
contribute to this objective. We discuss how realism-based ontologies (capturing
what is generic) combined with referent tracking (capturing what is specific) can
play a key role in building the robust and useful corporate memories of the future
Overview of methodologies for building ontologies
A few research groups are now proposing a series of steps and methodologies for developing ontologies. However, mainly due to the fact that Ontological Engineering is still a relatively immature discipline, each work group employs its own methodology. Our goal is to present the most representative methodologies used in ontology development and to perform an analysis of such methodologies against the same framework of reference. So, the goal of this paper is not to provide new insights about methodologies, but to put it all in one place and help people to select which methodology to use
How To Build Enterprise Data Models To Achieve Compliance To Standards Or Regulatory Requirements (and share data).
Sharing data between organizations is challenging because it is difficult to ensure that those consuming the data accurately interpret it. The promise of the next generation WWW, the semantic Web, is that semantics about shared data will be represented in ontologies and available for automatic and accurate machine processing of data. Thus, there is inter-organizational business value in developing applications that have ontology-based enterprise models at their core. In an ontology-based enterprise model, business rules and definitions are represented as formal axioms, which are applied to enterprise facts to automatically infer facts not explicitly represented. If the proposition to be inferred is a requirement from, say, ISO 9000 or Sarbanes-Oxley, inference constitutes a model-based proof of compliance. In this paper, we detail the development and application of the TOVE ISO 9000 Micro-Theory, a model of ISO 9000 developed using ontologies for quality management (measurement, traceability, and quality management system ontologies). A core ontology for business process analysis
Business Process Management (BPM) aims at supporting the whole life-cycle necessary to deploy and maintain business processes in organisations. An important step of the BPM life-cycle is the analysis of the processes deployed in companies. However, the degree of automation currently achieved cannot support the level of adaptation required by businesses. Initial steps have been performed towards including some sort of automated reasoning within Business Process Analysis (BPA) but this is typically limited to using taxonomies. We present a core ontology aimed at enhancing the state of the art in BPA. The ontology builds upon a Time Ontology and is structured around the process, resource, and object perspectives as typically adopted when analysing business processes. The ontology has been extended and validated by means of an Events Ontology and an Events Analysis Ontology aimed at capturing the audit trails generated by Process-Aware Information Systems and deriving additional knowledge

Ontologia de intreprindere face o distincție clară între nivelul datalogic, infolog și esențial al tranzacțiilor cu blockchain și contractele inteligente. Metodologia OntoClean analizează ontologiile bazate pe proprietăți formale, independente de domenii ale claselor (metaproprietăți), fiind prima încercare de a formaliza noțiunile de analiză ontologică pentru sistemele informatice. Noțiunile sunt extrase din ontologia filosofică. În webul semantic, o proprietate este o relație binară. Distincția dintre proprietate și clasă este subtilă. Astfel, o metaproprietate este o proprietate a unei proprietăți sau a unei clase.

An ontology roadmap for crowdsourcing innovation intermediaries
Ontologies have proliferated in the last years, essentially justified by the need of achieving a consensus in
the multiple representations of reality inside computers, and therefore the accomplishment of
interoperability between machines and systems. Ontologies provide an explicit conceptualization that
describes the semantics of the data. Crowdsourcing innovation intermediaries are organizations that mediate
the communication and relationship between companies that aspire to solve some problem or to take
advantage of any business opportunity with a crowd that is prone to give ideas based on their knowledge,
experience and wisdom, taking advantage of web 2.0 tools. Various ontologies have emerged, but at the best
of our knowledge, there isn’t any ontology that represents the entire process of intermediation of
crowdsourcing innovation. In this paper we present an ontology roadmap for developing crowdsourcing
innovation ontology of the intermediation process. Over the years, several authors have proposed some
distinct methodologies, by different proposals of combining practices, activities, languages, according to the
project they were involved in. We start making a literature review on ontology building, and analyse and
compare ontologies that propose the development from scratch with the ones that propose reusing other
ontologies. We also review enterprise and innovation ontologies known in literature. Finally, are presented
the criteria for selecting the methodology and the roadmap for building crowdsourcing innovation

PROCESS-ORIENTED SEMANTIC BUSINESS MODELING
In process-driven organizations, process models are the basis on which their supporting processaware information systems are built. Process modeling today is a highly complex, time consuming and error-prone task. In this paper, we define the abstraction levels of process modeling and extract the business knowledge required for modeling a process. Further, we present a processoriented enterprise ontology framework for capturing all relevant aspects of process models. Finally, we provide a set of application scenarios to illustrate the usage of the ontology framework. In this way, we reduce the complexity of process modeling, enable improved enterprise transparency and help ensuring the quality of designed process models
