Presenting Multiagent Challenges in Team Sports Analytics
This paper draws correlations between several challenges and opportunities
within the area of team sports analytics and key research areas within
multiagent systems (MAS). We specifically consider invasion games, defined as
sports where players invade the opposing team's territory and can interact
anywhere on a playing surface such as ice hockey, soccer, and basketball. We
argue that MAS is well-equipped to study invasion games and will benefit both
MAS and sports analytics fields. Our discussion highlights areas for MAS
implementation and further development along two axes: short-term in-game
strategy (coaching) and long-term team planning (management).Comment: 5 pages, 1 figure, In Proceedings of the 22nd International

Advanced transport operating system software upgrade: Flight management/flight controls software description
The Flight Management/Flight Controls (FM/FC) software for the Norden 2 (PDP-11/70M) computer installed on the NASA 737 aircraft is described. The software computes the navigation position estimates, guidance commands, those commands to be issued to the control surfaces to direct the aircraft in flight based on the modes selected on the Advanced Guidance Control System (AGSC) mode panel, and the flight path selected via the Navigation Control/Display Unit (NCDU)

Convergence between French Multidisciplinary engineer curriculum and Chinese Bachelor degree: application to the project activity
International audienceProject activity is one of the most important activity in the final year of the Bachelor in a Chinese University as well as in the first year of a French engineering « Grande Ecole ». Under a same name « project activity » different goals, different organizations exist. As a starting point, one can observe that the Bachelor project corresponds to the last activity of a cycle, leading to the Bachelor graduation, while the project activity in the first year engineering school is one of the first activities of a three years curriculum. From the Chinese side, Bachelor project help students to summarize and digest what they have learnt, to finish the elementary scientific research and engineering design, to master the fundamental scientific paper writing method. At last, the students will get the synthetic ability of theory and practice, the individual ability to solve an actual problem under the direction of their Bachelor tutor. On the basis of regulations of the People's Republic of China on academic degrees, the students can be graduated only by have finished their bachelor project and public reply successes. From the French side, project activity is mainly used to confront students at a teamwork activity, to face to a client need (generaly a company), to develop autonomy, leadership, and to confront them to take risks. This is the first time that students are exposed to such context. They will have the occasion to redo such experience during the 2 nd and the 3 rd year of their engineering activity
Multi-Agent Task Allocation for Robot Soccer
This is the published version. Copyright De GruyterThis paper models and analyzes task allocation methodologies for multiagent systems. The evaluation process was implemented as a collection of simulated soccer matches. A soccer-simulation software package was used as the test-bed as it provided the necessary features for implementing and testing the methodologies. The methodologies were tested through competitions with a number of available soccer strategies. Soccer game scores, communication, robustness, fault-tolerance, and replanning capabilities were the parameters used as the evaluation criteria for the mul1i-agent systems
