    Braiding simulation for RTM preforms

    Get PDF
Braiding is a manufacturing process that is increasingly being used to manufacture pre-forms for Resin Transfer Moulding. A fast simulation method is presented for the prediction of the fibre distribution on complex braided parts and complex kinetic situations (e.g. changes in velocity, orientation). The implementation is suited for triangular surface representations as generated by many CAD software packages in use. Experimental results are presented to validate the model predictions, showing an acceptable correlation with the data predicted by the simulation method. The guide ring dimensions and spacing appear to have a significant effect on the accuracy of the predicted fibre orientations

Problem and Solution Frameworks for Software Development Process Modeling,

    Get PDF
This paper presents and discusses two frameworks for use in software development process modeling. These frameworks organize in one place many of the problems and successful solution approaches identified over the past several years in the process modeling communityi, identifying general dimensions of the process modeling problem, and general dimensions that should be considered in any potential process modeling solution approach. In addition, several important problems and potential solution approaches that, to date, have received minimal focus are proposed and included in these frameworks

Interpreting an ERP implementation from a stakeholder perspective

    Get PDF
ERP systems are software packages that enable the integration of transactions oriented data and business processes throughout an organization. ERP implementation can be viewed as an organizational change process: many problems related to ERP implementation are related to a misfit of the system with the characteristics of the organization. This article uses the evidence of a case study to uncover some important dimensions of the organizational change issues related to ERP implementation. The study shows how ERP implementation can impact the interests of stakeholders of the ERP-system and how these groups may react by influencing the course of events, for example by altering the design and implementation in ways that are more consistent with their interests. Understanding the possible impact of ERP on particular interests of stakeholders may help project managers and others to manage ERP implementations more effectively.

Systems implantation: a comparative study and identification of gaps in usual methodologies

    Get PDF
Systems implantation is one the phases of the software process where the human interaction dimension becomes relevant. However, weakness in the supervision of this dimension is a factor that in many cases leads to the failure of the Project. In this work, systematization and control of the implantation activities in the following methodologies is reported: IEEE 1074, Métrica V3, Rational Unified Process, and SCRUM. An instrument for their comparison is proposed, including the rationale for the analytical dimensions used, and a preliminary interpretation of results is presented emphasizing gaps.Universidad Nacional de La Plat
