The Kumaraswamy-G Poisson Family of Distributions
For any baseline continuous G distribution, we propose a new generalized family called the Kumaraswamy-G Poisson (denoted with the prefix “Kw-GP”) with three extra positive parameters. Some special distributions in the new family such as the Kw-Weibull Poisson, Kw-gamma Poisson and Kw-beta Poisson distributions are introduced. We derive some mathematical properties of the new family including the ordinary moments, generating function and order statistics. The method of maximum likelihood is used to fit the distributions in the new family. We illustrate its potentiality by means of an application to a real data set
Exponentiated Complementary Kumaraswamy-G Power Series Family of Distributions with Application to Lifetime Data
This paper proposed the Exponentiated Complementary Kumaraswamy - G Power (ECK-GP) Series family of distributions which is an extension of the Complementary Kumaraswamy-G Power Series family of distributions. The expressions for its densities, basic statistical properties and parameters estimation using the method of Maximum Likelihood were derived and established. An application of the Exponentiated Complementary Kumaraswamy Exponential Poisson (ECKEP) distribution to a real lifetime dataset clearly reveals its suitability and flexibility in fitting real life dataset
Characterizations and Infinite Divisibility of Certain Recently Introduced Distributions IV
Certain characterizations of recently proposed univariate continuous distributions are presented in different directions. This work contains a good number of reintroduced distributions and may serve as a source of preventing the reinvention and/or duplication of the existing distributions in the future
Some Extended Classes of Distributions: Characterizations and Properties
Based on a simple relationship between two truncated moments and certain functions of the th order statistic, we characterize some extended classes of distributions recently proposed in the statistical literature, videlicet Beta-G, Gamma-G, Kumaraswamy-G and McDonald-G. Several properties of these extended classes and some special cases are discussed. We compare these classes in terms of goodness-of-fit criteria using some baseline distributions by means of two real data sets
Weighted Distributions: A Brief Review, Perspective and Characterizations
The weighted distributions are widely used in many fields such as medicine, ecology and reliability, to name a few, for the development of proper statistical models. Weighted distributions are milestone for efficient modeling of statistical data and prediction when the standard distributions are not appropriate. A good deal of studies related to the weight distributions have been published in the literature. In this article, a brief review of these distributions is carried out. Implications of the differing weight models for future research as well as some possible strategies are discussed. Finally, characterizations of these distributions based on a simple relationship between two truncated moments are presented
