    Implicit Study of Techniques and Tools for Data Analysis of Complex Sensory Data

    The utility as well as contribution of applications in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been experienced by the users from more than a decade. However, with the evolution of time, it has been found that there is a massive growth of data generation even in WSN. The smaller size of sensor with limited battery life and minimal computational capability cannot handle processive such a massive stream of complex data efficiently. Although, there are various types of mining techniques being practiced today, but such tools and techniques cannot be efficiently used for analyzing such complex and massively growing data. This paper therefore discusses about the generation of large data and issues of the existing research techniques by reviewing the literatures and frequently used tools. The study finally briefs about the significant research gap that calls for need of data analytical tools in extracting knowledge from complex sensory data

    Contemporary analysis and architecture for a generic cloud-based sensor data management platform.

    An increasing volume of data is being generated by sensors and smart devices deployed in different areas, often far from computing facilities such as data centres. These data can be difficult to gather and process using local computing infrastructure. This is due to cost and limited resources. Cloud computing provides scalable resources that are capable of addressing such problems. However, platform-independent methods of gathering and transmitting sensor data to Clouds are not widely available. This paper presents a state-of-the-art analysis of Cloud-based sensor monitoring and data gathering platforms. It discusses their strengths and weaknesses and reviews the current trends in this area. Informed by the analysis, the paper further proposes a generic conceptual architecture for achieving a platform-neutral Cloud-based sensor monitoring and data gathering platform. We also discuss the objectives, design decisions and the implementation considerations for the conceptual architecture.IC

    Diseño e implementación de un prototipo de sistema de gestión de luminarias Led para la Empresa Eléctrica Quito utilizando una red de sensores inalámbricos con 6lowpan

    El presente trabajo se enfoca en presentar el diseño y evaluación, utilizando una plataforma de desarrollo provista por el fabricante (Libelium), de un sistema de gestión de luminarias públicas LED1 para la Empresa Eléctrica Quito utilizando 6LoWPAN2, así como la implementación de un prototipo en laboratorio del sistema. Para cumplir con el objetivo del proyecto se plantea diseñar una red de sensores inalámbricos que recolectan la información pertinente y la envían a un Gateway. Los sensores usan el protocolo 6LoWPAN sobre la capa de enlace del 802.15.43 para crear una red mallada que interconecta todos los dispositivos de la red con el Gateway4. El Gateway recibe los datos de los nodos terminales (paquetes 6LoWPAN), cambia las cabeceras IP5 a IPv4 y mantiene la capa de transporte UDP6, luego envía la información a la computadora de túnel IPv4/IPv67 que cambia la cabecera nuevamente a IPv6 y la envía al servidor. Cada luminaria representa un nodo de la WSN8 y contiene un sensor de apagado-encendido de la misma, es decir una entrada digital que recebe una muestra de la señal que alimenta a la luminaria. El uso de 6LoWPAN nos permite varias ventajas: • Es un estándar abierto y confiable. • Integración transparente con internet y uso de su infraestructura. • Mantenimiento de la red. • Escalabilidad global. • Flujo de datos end-to-end. De lo anterior podemos concluir que el uso de 6LoWPAN es válido para el proyecto pues sus ventajas son útiles para el escenario planteado y nos permitirá comprobar que es útil para este tipo de soluciones
