    Human Resource Management and Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric Exploration

    The concept of artificial intelligence, a driving force behind human resource management, has recently gained popularity in the academic community. This study explores the intellectual structure of this field using the Scopus database in the subject area of business, management and accounting. Bibliographic analysis, a recent and rigorous method for delving into scientific data, is used in this investigation. The approach used is a structured and transparent process divided into four steps: (1) search criteria; (2) selection of database and documents; (3) selection of software and data pre-processing; and (4) analysis of findings. We employ bibliometric mapping to observe their numerous linkages and performance evaluation to learn about their structure. A total of 67 articles were collected from the Scopus database between 2015 and 2022 using certain keywords (artificial intelligence, expert systems, big data analytics, and human resource management) and some specific filters (subject–business, management and accounting; language-English; document–article, review articles and source-journals). Ten research clusters were identified: Cluster 1: multi-agent system; Cluster 2: decision support system; Cluster 3: internet of things; Cluster 4: active learning; Cluster 5: decision tree; Cluster 6: optimisation; Cluster 7: software design; Cluster 8: data mining; Cluster 9: cloud computing; Cluster 10: human-robot interaction. The findings could be helpful for researchers and practitioners in the HRM field to extend their knowledge and understanding of AI and HRM research. This study can provide notable guidance and future directions for quite a few firms in expanding the use of AI in HRM.     Implementing Industry 4.0: Exploring the literature in a systematic way using text mining

    The increasing popularity of digitisation practices and methods by scholars and practitioners alike has been paving the way for industrial transformation. Industry 4.0 has become an accepted trend across various industries, yet despite the increasing number of articles on this topic the complexities of implementation at the firm level remains largely vague and undefined. Therefore, the research presents a review of the social, operational and strategic aspects following the full-text mining of 116 selected articles. The study reveals that digital transformation requires stakeholders and investors to consider implementation through a multi-level and multidisciplinary lens. On this basis the study identifies the social, operational and strategic gaps within the literature and provides recommendations for future studies on implementation

    Rise of big data – issues and challenges

    The recent rapid rise in the availability of big data due to Internet-based technologies such as social media platforms and mobile devices has left many market leaders unprepared for handling very large, random and high velocity data. Conventionally, technologies are initially developed and tested in labs and appear to the public through media such as press releases and advertisements. These technologies are then adopted by the general public. In the case of big data technology, fast development and ready acceptance of big data by the user community has left little time to be scrutinized by the academic community. Although many books and electronic media articles are published by professionals and authors for their work on big data, there is still a lack of fundamental work in academic literature. Through survey methods, this paper discusses challenges in different aspects of big data, such as data sources, content format, data staging, data processing, and prevalent data stores. Issues and challenges related to big data, specifically privacy attacks and counter-techniques such as k-anonymity, t-closeness, l-diversity and differential privacy are discussed. Tools and techniques adopted by various organizations to store different types of big data are also highlighted. This study identifies different research areas to address such as a lack of anonymization techniques for unstructured big data, data traffic pattern determination for developing scalable data storage solutions and controlling mechanisms for high velocity data
