A modified Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is proposed in which the consequent parts are composed of a set of discrete-time state equations containing a repeated scalar nonlinearity. Such a model can describe some well-known nonlinear systems such as recurrent neural networks. The measurement transmission between the plant and controller is assumed to be imperfect and a stochastic variable satisfying the Bernoulli random binary distribution is utilized to represent the phenomenon of random packet losses. Attention is focused on the analysis and design of H∞ fuzzy controllers with the same repeated scalar nonlinearities such that the closed-loop T-S fuzzy control system is stochastically stable and preserves a guaranteed H∞ performance. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of admissible controllers, and the cone complementarity linearization procedure is employed to cast the controller design problem into a sequential minimization one subject to linear matrix inequalities, which can be readily solved by using standard numerical software. Two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method

    Robust H∞ feedback control for uncertain stochastic delayed genetic regulatory networks with additive and multiplicative noise

Gene regulation is inherently a stochastic process because of intrinsic and extrinsic noises that cause kinetic parameter variations and basal rate disturbance. Time delays are usually inevitable due to different biochemical reactions in such GRNs. In this paper, a delayed stochastic model with additive and multiplicative noises is utilized to describe stochastic GRNs. A feedback gene controller design scheme is proposed to guarantee that the GRN is mean-square asymptotically stable with noise attenuation, where the structure of the controllers can be specified according to engineering requirements. By applying control theory and mathematical tools, the analytical solution to the control design problem is given, which helps to provide some insight into synthetic biology and systems biology.     This paper is concerned with the problem of robust stabilization and H∞ control for a class of uncertain neural networks. For the robust stabilization problem, sufficient conditions are derived based on the quadratic convex combination property together with Lyapunov stability theory. The feedback controller we design ensures the robust stability of uncertain neural networks with mixed time delays. We further design a robust H∞ controller which guarantees the robust stability of the uncertain neural networks with a given H∞ performance level. The delay-dependent criteria are derived in terms of LMI (linear matrix inequality). Finally, numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained results

    A new approach to solving the distributed control problem for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems via a wireless neural control network (WNCN) is presented in this paper. A unified Lurie-type model termed delayed standard neural network model (DSNNM) is used to describe these nonlinear systems. We assume that all neuron nodes in WNCN which have limited energy, storage space, and computing ability can be regarded as a subcontroller, then the whole WNCN is characterized by a mesh-like structure with partially connected neurons distributed over a wide geographical area, which can be considered as a fully distributed nonlinear output feedback dynamic controller. The unreliable wireless communication links within WNCN are modeled by fading channels. Based on the Lyapunov functional and the S-procedure, the WNCN is solved and configured for the DSNNM to absolutely stabilize the whole closed-loop system in the sense of mean square with a H∞ disturbance attenuation index using LMI approach. A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed design approaches

    Robust H-infinity filtering for 2-D systems with intermittent measurements

    This paper is concerned with the problem of robust H∞ filtering for uncertain two-dimensional (2-D) systems with intermittent measurements. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be of polytopic type, and the measurements transmission is assumed to be imperfect, which is modeled by a stochastic variable satisfying the Bernoulli random binary distribution. Our attention is focused on the design of an H∞ filter such that the filtering error system is stochastically stable and preserves a guaranteed H∞ performance. This problem is solved in the parameter-dependent framework, which is much less conservative than the quadratic approach. By introducing some slack matrix variables, the coupling between the positive definite matrices and the system matrices is eliminated, which greatly facilitates the filter design procedure. The corresponding results are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be easily tested by using standard numerical software.     Robust ∞ Filtering for a Class of Complex Networks with Stochastic Packet Dropouts and Time Delays

    The robust ∞ filtering problem is investigated for a class of complex network systems which has stochastic packet dropouts and time delays, combined with disturbance inputs. The packet dropout phenomenon occurs in a random way and the occurrence probability for each measurement output node is governed by an individual random variable. Besides, the time delay phenomenon is assumed to occur in a nonlinear vector-valued function. We aim to design a filter such that the estimation error converges to zero exponentially in the mean square, while the disturbance rejection attenuation is constrained to a given level by means of the ∞ performance index. By constructing the proper Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, we acquire sufficient conditions to guarantee the stability of the state detection observer for the discrete systems, and the observer gain is also derived by solving linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to show the usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed design method
