Is the EU's Foreign Policy Identity an Obstacle? The European Union, the Northern Dimension and the Union for the Mediterranean

The impact of the EU policies on its borderlands has been highly varied. We will argue that a valuable addendum on Rationalist explananda for such varied impact, can be found be exploring how the EU constructs its international identity vis-à-vis neighboring countries. Annex 65, Long-Term Performance of Super-Insulating-Materials in Building Components and Systems. Report of Subtask I: State of the Art and Case Studies

The objective of this subtask I is to present the main characteristic of SIM (Super Insulating Materials) compared to traditional materials.Two main SIM are considered:- VIP (Vacuum Insulation Panel)- APM (Advanced Porous Materials).Moreover, the present report provides an up-to-date catalogue of commercially available materials & components with technical description and data of each product and information about the application domains and the implementation rules.An overview on all the application areas such as external & internal wall insulation, roofs, floors, ceilings …are investigated through a few case studies.Finally, preliminary results about Life Cycle Assessment of SIM are presented at the end of the report

For this reason, our workshop “Low carbon Buildings and Communities in the Sustainable Built Environment” supported by the British Council Researcher Links as well as our workshop “Novel Energy for the Regenerative Built Environment: Technical and Managerial Aspects” supported by the Turkish Science Foundation (TÜBİTAK) play an important role in bringing the academics from various disciplines together. 21st century social work: reducing re-offending - key practice skills

This literature review was commissioned by the Scottish Executive’s Social Work Services Inspectorate in order to support the work of the 21st Century Social Work Review Group. Discussions in relation to the future arrangements for criminal justice social work raised issues about which disciplines might best encompass the requisite skills for reducing re-offending in the community. Rather than starting with what is known or understood about the skills of those professionals currently involved in such interventions, this study sought to start with the research evidence on effective work with offenders to reduce re-offending and then work its way back to the skills required to promote this outcome
