Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O presente trabalho visa fazer apontamentos quanto à questão geral: como se sentia um Romano frente à aparente ruína de Roma? Para isso, foi escolhido o traumático evento da Batalha de Adrianópolis, que foi precisamente detalhado por Amiano Marcelino em seu último livro, onde ele discorre desde a travessia do Danúbio pelos povos Godos até a morte do imperador Valente. Buscamos então, na leitura desse livro em sua língua original, fazer considerações quanto às questões importantes do Império Romano do século IV, utilizando-nos da mais recente bibliografia sobre o tema, e de diversas fontes de outra natureza, como a numismática e a epigrafia
