Audio Cartography: Visual Encoding of Acoustic Parameters

Our sonic environment is the matter of subject in multiple domains which developed individual means of its description. As a result, it lacks an established visual language through which knowledge can be connected and insights shared. We provide a visual communication framework for the systematic and coherent documentation of sound in large-scale environments. This consists of visual encodings and mappings of acoustic parameters into distinct graphic variables that present plausible solutions for the visualization of sound. These candidate encodings are assembled into an application-independent, multifunctional, and extensible design guide. We apply the guidelines and show example maps that acts as a basis for the exploration of audio cartography

Relying on reference cases when evaluating new technical solutions? Evaluation of technical documentation in a case study

Serial failures have occurred when introducing new technical solutions in the Swedish construction industry. In an earlier interview study exploring introduction of new technical solutions, documentation and reference cases provided by the supplier are given as the main sources for evaluation. This paper aims at addressing the questions: 1. What kind of documentation concerning building physics are provided by suppliers? 2. How well does the suppliers\u27 documentation meet the need for verification? In order to address these questions, the case of hygrothermal performance of cross laminated timber structures in multifamily dwellings was chosen. An inquiry of data was sent out to four suppliers at the Swedish market, asking for documentation and reference cases provided. Based on the documentation given, an assessment was made of to which extend the documentation can support verification of appliance to the relevant requirements of the Swedish building regulations. The case study shows reference cases are scarce and existing documentation is not comprehensive, thus indicating the building industry might have a disproportional high confidence in reference cases. The results will be used to suggest requirements for reference cases to be used for verification

A Review on Software Architecture Documentation in Agile Development

With the growing development of world every software product demands extra features to compete with competitors. To solve this problem, we have required Agile with defined and clear architecture to avoid the failure of project. Traditional Models and 2. Agile Models The traditionally models are highly time consuming with dense documentation as compared to agile with frivolous documentation and intercommunications to satisfy customer. There are different methodologies available for starting products and complex systems development consisting the simple requirement with well-structured architecture objects. But we choose the agile process to make our architecture slim and least documentation which can easily review, update and conversate. This study aimed to analyze the librarian services contained in the Library, Archives and Documentation Central Sulawesi Province. Literature review in this study, namely, Reference Services, Attention To The Public, and Solutions. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The location of research at the National Library and Documentation Archive of Central Sulawesi Province. Selection of informants using two methods, namely purposive or sampling technique with a certain consideration, as well as accidential which is a technique that is based on chance or encountered anyone who by chance met with investigators. Selection of informants by purposive priority of service providers in this regard Librarian at the Library, Archives and Documentation Central Sulawesi Province, while public service users, in this case by way of accidential pemustaka. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. In this study, researchers used the analytical techniques interpretation. Engineering analysis approach is to bring up what it means or meaning of the problems, cases, circumstance, or situation under study. Based on the results of the study showed that the public service at the Library, Archives and Documentation Central Sulawesi Province of the indicator a) Reference Service, not run as expected, while the indicator b).
