Nowadays, the increasing number of crimes and violence in the world has become a concern of modem society. This is why the need for criminal recognition using gait used for civilian and forensic analysis applications has evoked considerable interest. The literature accurate the result can be found in gait recognition by leave bag behind detection especially in .the critical area examples airport and shopping mall environment. This is important because the method used capable of identifying the subject based on their gait and can be presented as the most probable subject as a strong evidence for criminal identification. This research limited to leave the bag behind detection on gait recognition. In this research, the analysis perfonned using two methods which are Model-Based approaches and Appearance-Based approaches. The selected methods were implemented in MATLAB R2014a and R Studio and tested with a standard dataset from the Chinese Academy of Science (CASIA) and tested using two classifiers which is Support Vector Machine (SVM) and KNN (K nearest Neighbour) based on accuracy and misclassification rates (MER) metrics. The experiment results show that the accuracy and misclassification rate (MER) of Appearance-based approaches obtained is 93.66% and 6.33% respectively tested on SVM classifier then the accuracy and misclassification rate (MER) of AppearanceĀbased approaches is 97.66% and 2.33% respectively tested on KNN algorithm. Meanwhile, the accuracy and misclassification rate (MER) of Model-based approaches obtained is 97.00% and 3.00% respectively tested on SVM classifier then the accuracy and misclassification rate (MER) of Model-based approaches is 99.00% and 1.00% respectively tested on KNN algorithm. It can be concluded from experiments conducted by Model-based approaches better than Appearance-based approaches because Model-Based approaches higher precision value as well as low misclassification

Development of cost effective PLC training kit by using arduino platform (PLCDUINO)

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an industry demand practical based subject which required hands on experience of programming and hardware wiring. Because of such nature, the course is usually delivered with the help of PLC training kit. The kit generally consists of PLC incorporating switches as an input and lamps as an output. However cost of owning a PLC training kit is quite expensive and the PLC itself dominates the total cost. In this project, a solution for catering such an issue is proposed by introducing PLCduino training kit. Basically the systems use standard PLC Ladder diagram and implement it under cheap Arduino microcontroller platform. The Ladder instruction set is automatically converted to the Arduino language with the usage of LDuino software, while the PLC voltage requirement is fulfilled by using couple of relay boards. The system is expected to deliver the same performance of standard PLC system with more than 50 percent cheaper in price

This thesis examines the provision of learning environments that enable people to participate in high-quality learning experiences without physically travelling to classrooms and classes. New technologies enable the asynchronous web currently based on text, images, and video, to be extended to facilitate multi-channel synchronous communications. There is significant potential to enhance learning using the 3D worlds used for interactive gaming, populated by avatars representing the participants, and chat systems using text and audio channels. The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and use of 3D web-based learning environments. Staff and students from an Information Technology degree programme at one New Zealand Polytechnic participated in the study. The design and use of 3D web-based learning environments were integrated into one paper over six years. Data were collected from the teachers of this paper and the programme in which it was embedded.A survey instrument was used to collect data, along with artefacts from the software design and development plus the web-based environments created. Computer logs, and records of chat sessions were collected to enable analysis of the activities that took place in the new learning environments. Follow-up interviews were conducted with a sample of students after the completion of their study. Analysis of these data included collations of statistically significant relationships between environmental factors and the design features of the 3D web-based environments created. Results indicate that the 3D web-based environments were well received by the students and show significant potential for the future provision of learning environments. The technology has no negative impact on studentsā€™ perception of their learning environment; however, it did not have the expected positive impact on their communications with peers or teaching staff. This research suggests directions for the future development and application of 3D webbased technologies to fully enable their potential to be achieved in educational learning environments
