This study presented the effect of pressure on the density, porosity and flexural strength when cold isostatic press (CIP) was applied to compact the ceramic powders in the form of insert cutting tools. Specific composition of alumina (Al2O3) wt.90%,yittria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) wt.10%, chromium oxide(Cr2O3) wt.0.6% and polyethylene glycol (PEG) wt.0.6% were ball milled and hand pressed to form green body of ceramic inserts. These green body were undergone further compaction inside CIP with pressures variation of 200 MPa, 300 MPa, 400 MPa with 30 seconds and 60 seconds pressuring time. The ceramic composts were then sintered at 1440°C for 9 hours before being assessed with density, porosity, Rockwell hardness (HRC) and bending test. The results show that CIP use with 300 MPa parameters with 60 seconds shows the best mechanical properties with relative density 95.5%, porosity 4.5% and HRC 65.5 hardness. Further assessment of microstructure revealed that the particles size distributed evenly along fracture surface with coarse grain and porosity dominant in the certain area

Recent advances in information technology have revolutionized the automotive industry, paving the way for next-generation smart vehicular mobility. Specifically, vehicles, roadside units, and other road users can collaborate to deliver novel services and applications that leverage, for example, big vehicular data and machine learning. Relatedly, fifth-generation cellular networks (5G) are being developed and deployed for low-latency, high-reliability, and high bandwidth communications. While 5G adjacent technologies such as edge computing allow for data offloading and computation at the edge of the network thus ensuring even lower latency and context-awareness. Overall, these developments provide a rich ecosystem for the evolution of vehicular applications, communications, and computing. Therefore in this work, we aim at providing a comprehensive overview of the state of research on vehicular computing in the emerging age of 5G and big data. In particular, this paper highlights several vehicular applications, investigates their requirements, details the enabling communication technologies and computing paradigms, and studies data analytics pipelines and the integration of these enabling technologies in response to application requirements.Peer reviewe

A review of traffic simulation software

Computer simulation of tra c is a widely used method in research of tra c modelling, planning and development of tra c networks and systems. Vehicular tra c systems are of growing concern and interest globally and modelling arbitrarily complex tra c systems is a hard problem. In this article we review some of the tra c simulation software applications, their features and characteristics as well as the issues these applications face. Additionally, we introduce some algorithmic ideas, underpinning data structural approaches and quanti able metrics that can be applied to simulated model systems
