    The Simple Network Management Protocol (SMMP) was introduced in the late 1980s. Since then, several evolutionary protocol changes have taken place, resulting in the SNMP version 3 framework (SNMPv3). Extensive use of SNMP has led to significant practical experience by both network operators and researchers. Since recently, researchers are in the possession of real world SNMP traces. This allows researchers to analyze the real world application of SNMP. A publication of 2007 made a significant start with this. However, real world trace analysis demands a continual approach, due to changing circumstances (e.g., regarding the network and SNMP engine implementations).     MANET Network Management and Performance Monitoring for NHDP and OLSRv2

    Mobile Ad Hoc NETworks (MANETs) are generally thought of as infrastructureless and largely ``un-managed'' network deployments, capable of accommodating highly dynamic network topologies. Yet, while the network infrastructure may be ``un-managed'', monitoring the network performance and setting configuration parameters once deployed, remains important in order to ensure proper ``tuning'' and maintenance of a MANET. This memorandum describes a management framework for the MANET routing protocol OLSRv2, and its constituent protocol NHDP. It does so by presenting considerations for ``what to monitor and manage'' in an OLSRv2 network, and how. The approach developed is based on the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and thus this paper details the various Management Information Bases (MIBs) for router status monitoring and control -- as well as a novel approach to history-based performance monitoring. While SNMP may not be optimally designed for MANETs, it is chosen due to it being the predominant protocol for IP network management -- and thus, efforts are made in this paper to ``adapt'' the management tools within the SNMP framework for reasonable behavior also in a MANET environment

    The most difficult area in any implementation of a successful network is the monitoring and maintenance of such a network.  The network management solutions available today use the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), which uses a centralized management approach. The drawbacks of such an implementation over-weigh the advantages . SNMP provides excellent statistics on the macro level but does not provide the level of details that is often required to completely resolve many network issues . Unlike SNMP the Multi Agent System (MAS) works in a distributed computing paradigm. This paper discusses a MAS solution to certain real world requirements of any network administrator.     Sistem informasi telah menjadi bagian yang sangat penting bagi semua institusi dan kalangan modern untuk saat ini. Dengan ketersediaan sistem informasi yang tepat, banyak keuntungan yang dapat diperoleh, yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan produktivitas kerja. Untuk menjaga jaringan informasi tetap stabil dan tersedia, diperlukan suatu sistem manajemen yang baik dan mampu mengatasi masalah yang terjadi. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan dan implementasi protokol Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) untuk manajemen jaringan yang diimplementasikan langsung di Program Studi Teknik Informatika Universitas Pasundan. Dalam operasionalnya, protokol Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) ini dibantu dengan aplikasi zabbix. Monitoring jaringan diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja dan untuk memastikan efisiensi dan stabilitas operasional. Analisa dan monitoring trafik diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan jaringan dengan penggunaan analisa statistik untuk memperoleh karakteristik trafik. Statistik ini menyediakan isyarat yang penting tentang kualitas layanan jaringan. Dari hasil pengujian dan analisa sistem diperoleh hasil bahwa sistem monitoring dan manajemen jaringan yang telah dirancang dapat berjalan dengan baik. Sistem yang dirancang dapat menampilkan berbagai informasi yang dibutuhkan dalam memanajemen jaringan seperti tampilan grafik jaringan dan berbagai fitur lainnya.
