[EN]Component reuse is one of the techniques that most clearly contributes to the evolution of the software industry by providing efficient mechanisms to create quality software. Reuse increases both software reliability, due to the fact that it uses previously tested software components, and development productivity, and leads to a clear reduction in cost. Web services have become are an standard for application development on cloud computing environments and are essential in business process development. These services facilitate a software construction that is relatively fast and efficient, two aspects which can be improved by defining suitable models of reuse. This research work is intended to define a model which contains the construction requirements of new services from service composition. To this end, the composition is based on tested Web services and artificial intelligent tools at our disposal. It is believed that a multi-agent architecture based on virtual organizations is a suitable tool to facilitate the construction of cloud computing environments for business processes from other existing environments, and with help from ontological models as well as tools providing the standard BPEL (Business Process Execution Language). In the context of this proposal, we must generate a new business process from the available services in the platform, starting with the requirement specifications that the process should meet. These specifications will be composed of a semi-free description of requirements to describe the new service. The virtual organizations based on a multi-agent system will manage the tasks requiring intelligent behaviour. This system will analyse the input (textual description of the proposal) in order to deconstruct it into computable functionalities, which will be subsequently treated. Web services (or business processes) stored to be reused have been created from the perspective of SOA architectures and associated with an ontological component, which allows the multi-agent system (based on virtual organizations) to identify the services to complete the reuse process. The proposed model develops a service composition by applying a standard BPEL once the services that will compose the solution business process have been identified. This standard allows us to compose Web services in an easy way and provides the advantage of a direct mapping from Business Process Management Notation diagrams

Landungsari Hamlet is one of the villages in Dau District, Sial Regency which provides public services at the Village Office. Public services for population administration in Landungsari Village, Dau District include making Family Cards (KK), Electronic Citizen Characteristics Cards (e-KTP), Reverse Residence Records (SKTS) and there are recommended services including: making birth certificates, marriage certificates, certificates land, business license (HO), introduction to making SKCK and SIM. Based on the results of studies that have been tested regarding the quality of public services from the perspective of population administration in Landungsari Hamlet, it can be concluded that Landungsari Village has a room size of 8x6m2 for a capacity of 5 service personnel. The service room has service tables, an activity table, 2 sets of residence description card recording devices and remote chairs for people waiting for service. The Landungsari Hamlet office has not yet fulfilled the necessary service tools to provide services to similar communities while at least there are chairs in the waiting room, there is no table for writing in the waiting room, information equipment is not yet available. Tools such as generators are not optimized, so when the power goes out, the service method will also end the totality, which means that people cannot get service. In terms of reliability, from the results of a leaked study if the residents of Dau District are satisfied with the services provided by the Ordinary Services Section of Dusun Landungsari in terms of reliabilit

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyze challenges and to discuss proposed solutions for innovative public governance through cloud computing. Innovative technologies, such as federation of services and cloud computing, can greatly contribute to the provision of e-government services, through scaleable and flexible systems. Furthermore, they can facilitate in reducing costs and overcoming public information segmentation. Nonetheless, when public agencies use these technologies, they encounter several associated organizational and technical changes, as well as significant challenges. Design/methodology/approach: We followed a multidisciplinary perspective (social, behavioral, business and technical) and conducted a conceptual analysis for analyzing the associated challenges. We conducted focus group interviews in two countries for evaluating the performance models that resulted from the conceptual analysis. Findings: This study identifies and analyzes several challenges that may emerge while adopting innovative technologies for public governance and e-government services. Furthermore, it presents suggested solutions deriving from the experience of designing a related platform for public governance, including issues of privacy requirements, proposed business models and key performance indicators for public services on cloud computing. Research limitations/implications: The challenges and solutions discussed are based on the experience gained by designing one platform. However, we rely on issues and challenges collected from four countries. Practical implications: The identification of challenges for innovative design of e-government services through a central portal in Europe and using service federation is expected to inform practitioners in different roles about significant changes across multiple levels that are implied and may accelerate the challenges' resolution. Originality/value: This is the first study that discusses from multiple perspectives and through empirical investigation the challenges to realize public governance through innovative technologies. The results emerge from an actual portal that will function at a European level. © Emerald Group Publishing Limited

    Open semantic service networks

Online service marketplaces will soon be part of the economy to scale the provision of specialized multi-party services through automation and standardization. Current research, such as the *-USDL service description language family, is already deïŹning the basic building blocks to model the next generation of business services. Nonetheless, the developments being made do not target to interconnect services via service relationships. Without the concept of relationship, marketplaces will be seen as mere functional silos containing service descriptions. Yet, in real economies, all services are related and connected. Therefore, to address this gap we introduce the concept of open semantic service network (OSSN), concerned with the establishment of rich relationships between services. These networks will provide valuable knowledge on the global service economy, which can be exploited for many socio-economic and scientiïŹc purposes such as service network analysis, management, and control

IT process architectures for enterprises development: A survey from a maturity model perspective

    Get PDF
During the last years much has been published about IT governance. Close to the success of many governance efforts are the business frameworks, quality models, and technology standards that help enterprises improve processes, customer service, quality of products, and control. In this paper we i) survey existing frameworks, namely ITIL, ASL and BiSL, ii) find relations with the IT Governance framework CobiT to determine if the maturity model of CobiT can be used by ITIL, ASL and BiSL, and (iii) provide an integrated vista of IT processes viewed from a maturity model perspective. This perspective can help us understand the importance of maturity models for increasing the efficiency of IT processes for enterprises development and business-IT alignment

The Impact of Employee Satisfaction on Profitability of Restaurants And Cafés: A Research in Surabaya, Indonesia

Currently the business sector of restaurants and cafés in Surabaya has been developing rapidly. In a relatively short time, many restaurants and cafés appear with unique and various offers. Restaurant and café are businesses that emphasize not only on the food served, but also on the service delivery of the employees. In other words, the business of restaurants and cafés not only sell the product but also sell the service. In this research, the data collection is done by distributing questionnaires to 794 employees and customers in 55 restaurants and cafés in Surabaya which adopt the table service concept. The Partial Least Square for Multivariate Analysis is employed for processing the data
