Learning in experimental 2×2 games
In this paper we introduce four new learning models: impulse balance learning, impulse matching learning, action-sampling learning, and payoff-sampling learning. With this models and together with the models of self- tuning EWA learning and reinforcement learning, we conduct simulations over 12 different 2×2 games and compare the results with experimental data obtained by Selten & Chmura (2008). Our results are two-fold: While the simulations, especially those with action-sampling learning and impulse matching learning successfully replicate the experimental data on the aggregate, they fail in describing the individual behavior. Supervisor Self-disclosure: Supervisees\u27 Experiences and Perspectives
Twelve graduate-level supervisees were interviewed regarding their experiences of supervisor self-disclosure (SRSD); data were analyzed using consensual qualitative research. When describing a specific SRSD experience, supervisees reported a range of antecedents (e.g., difficult clinical situation, self-doubt, tension in supervision relationship) followed by supervisor disclosures about clinical experiences or personal information. Supervisees perceived that their supervisors disclosed primarily to normalize, but also to build rapport and to instruct. The SRSDs had mostly positive effects (e.g., normalization), though some negative effects (e.g., deleterious impact on supervision relationship) were reported. Self-similarity and long-time behavior of solutions of the diffusion equation with nonlinear absorption and a boundary source
This paper deals with the long-time behavior of solutions of nonlinear
reaction-diffusion equations describing formation of morphogen gradients, the
concentration fields of molecules acting as spatial regulators of cell
differentiation in developing tissues. For the considered class of models, we
establish existence of a new type of ultra-singular self-similar solutions.
These solutions arise as limits of the solutions of the initial value problem
with zero initial data and infinitely strong source at the boundary. We prove
existence and uniqueness of such solutions in the suitable weighted energy
spaces. Moreover, we prove that the obtained self-similar solutions are the
long-time limits of the solutions of the initial value problem with zero
initial data and a time-independent boundary source
Electrochemical carbon dioxide concentrator subsystem math model
A steady state computer simulation model has been developed to describe the performance of a total six man, self-contained electrochemical carbon dioxide concentrator subsystem built for the space station prototype. The math model combines expressions describing the performance of the electrochemical depolarized carbon dioxide concentrator cells and modules previously developed with expressions describing the performance of the other major CS-6 components. The model is capable of accurately predicting CS-6 performance over EDC operating ranges and the computer simulation results agree with experimental data obtained over the prediction range
