    Strange Quarkonium States at BESIII

We present physics opportunities and topics with the ssˉs\bar{s} states (strangeonia) that can be studied with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. Though the ϕ\phi and η/η\eta/\eta^\prime states have long been established experimentally, only a handful of strangeonia are well known, in contrast to the rich ccˉc\bar{c} charmoium system. An overview of the ssˉs\bar{s} states and their experimental status is presented in this paper. The BESIII experiment has collected the world's largest samples of J/ψJ/\psi, ψ(2S)\psi(2S), ψ(3770)\psi(3770), and direct e+ee^+e^- annihilations at energies below the J/ψJ/\psi and above 3.8\,GeV, and will continue to accumulate high quality, large integrated luminosity in the τ\tau-charm energy region. These data, combined with the excellent performance of the BESIII detector, will offer unprecedent opportunities to explore the ssˉs\bar{s} system. In this paper we describe the experimental techniques to explore strangeonia with the BESIII detector.% at the BEPCII

An overview of η\eta and η\eta^{\prime} decays at BESIII

The world's largest sample of 1.31 billion J/ψJ/\psi events accumulated at the BESIII detector, provides a unique opportunity to investigate η\eta and η\eta^\prime physics via two body J/ψJ/\psi radiative or hadronic decays. For many η\eta^\prime decay channels the low background data samples are up to three orders of magnitude larger than collected in any previous experiment. Here we review the most significant results on η\eta and η\eta^\prime obtained at BESIII so far. The analyses range from detailed studies of the common decays dynamics, observations of new radiative and Dalitz decays, and search for rare/forbidden decays with sensitivity up to B105\cal{B}\sim 10^{-5}. Finally, prospects of the forthcoming runs at J/ψJ/\psi peak for the η\eta and η\eta^\prime physics are discussed.Comment: 17pages. 20 figure

Search for C=+C=+ charmonium and XYZ states in e+eγ+He^+e^-\to \gamma+ H at BESIII

Within the framework of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, we study the production of C=+C=+ charmonium states HH in e+eγ + He^+e^-\to \gamma~+~H at BESIII with H=ηc(nS)H=\eta_c(nS) (n=1, 2, 3, and 4), χcJ(nP)\chi_{cJ}(nP) (n=1, 2, and 3), and 1D2(nD)^1D_2(nD) (n=1 and 2). The radiative and relativistic corrections are calculated to next-to-leading order for SS and PP wave states. We then argue that the search for C=+C=+ XYZXYZ states such as X(3872)X(3872), X(3940)X(3940), X(4160)X(4160), and X(4350)X(4350) in e+eγ + He^+e^-\to \gamma~+~H at BESIII may help clarify the nature of these states. BESIII can search XYZXYZ states through two body process e+eγHe^+e^-\to \gamma H, where HH decay to J/ψπ+πJ/\psi \pi^+\pi^-, J/ψϕJ/\psi \phi, or DDˉD \bar D. This result may be useful in identifying the nature of C=+C=+ XYZXYZ states. For completeness, the production of C=+C=+ charmonium in e+eγ+ He^+e^-\to \gamma +~H at B factories is also discussed.Comment: Comments and suggestions are welcome. References are update

Phenomenological and Experimental Developments in Charm Physics: The WG7 Report from CKM 2016

We present an overview of recent developments in charm physics reported in the Working~Group~7 meetings of the CKM 2016 workshop. Progresses in experimental analysis and techniques were reported by LHCb, Belle, BABAR and BESIII along with projections for the future. Developments were also reported in the phenomenological extraction of both direct and indirect CP violation from data in two-, three- and four-body hadronic decays of the DD mesonic system.Comment: 12 pages.
