Exploring Software Engineering Subjects by Using Visual Learning Analytics Techniques
[EN]The application of the Information and Communication Technologies to teaching and learning processes is linked to the development of new tools and services that can help students and teachers. Learning platforms are a clear example of this. They are
very popular tools in eLearning contexts and provide different kinds of learning applications and services. In addition, these environments also register most of the interactions between the learning process stakeholders and the system. This information could potentially be used to make decisions but usually it is stored as raw data, which is very difficult to understand. This work presents a system that employs visual learning analytic techniques to facilitate the exploitation of that information. The system presented includes several tools that make possible to explore issues such as: when interaction is carried out, which contents are the most important for users, how they interact with others, etc. The system was tested in the context of a software engineering subject, taking into account the stored logs of five academic years. From this analysis it is possible to see how visual analytics can help decision-making and in this context how it helps to improve educational processes
In the year 2009 as an initiative in the framework of doctoral research "Lessons learned in information literacy programs at universities in Ibero America" began the design, implementation and maintenance of different resources and tools, from the perspective of Web 2.0, permit the level of Ibero America know what is being developed on the issue of information literacy (or ISD as is known in other contexts) and after this identification, possible through these resources, the generation of networks that facilitate learning exchange collaborative development process benchmarking. This paper aims to present how has this process and potential integration of these resources have made possible thanks to the participation of different members, contacts in different countries, and specially, the international visibility that has been given to the developments and cases generated from Ibero America specifically considering the Blog (http://alfiniberoamerica.blogspot.com/) and tools Timeline ALFIN / Ibero America (http://www.dipity.com/alfiniberoamerica/) and the Map Geo-content representation of information literacy programs and projects (http://bit.ly/9hu80u), which little by little, though still under construction, to realize where he went and walking information literacy in our Ibero American context
USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND COMMUNICATIONS (ICTS) IN UNIVERSITY RESEARCH CULTURE
This article shows the influence and value that Colombian universities have had on the use of ICTs and how by this, research is fundamental in academy has been an indifferent factor given by traditional elements and in an administrative and cultural nature. In contrast to that, ICTs reveal how an ideal connector between researches results; it is emphasized as the essence of the academy, and the reality of the country that demands solutions that only universities are capable to do.
There is shown the problems and the unknown questions that don’t allow the fluidity of research dynamics, ICTs, innovation and solution of real problems

Our intent is to frame the integration of service learning and digital technologies broadly in teaching and learning and to explore some of the complexities of the challenge and the promise, thereby setting up readers’ engagement with the questions and issues that follow in the papers of RIED. We seek to provide perspectives that may contribute to subsequent implementation of pedagogical innovations and research that will improve practice and, in consequence, outcomes for all. We begin by offering an overview of the what’s and why’s of service learning. We then examine some of the how’s of service learning in the context of its integration with digital technologies. Finally, we explore several issues that may shape new developments at the interface of these two pedagogical innovation.

Public-educational policies about ICT in Spain. Three decades where professors have influenced in educational change
This article presents the perspective of a portion of Spanish academics related to the field of ICT in education on the role of public policy. The purpose was to study what policies analysis is made and how the scientific societies influence in political discourse. It discusses various discourse analysis and decision making about ICT policies in education: Indicators, Diagnostics, Comparative studies, Principles and measures, Inventory, Models, Analysis of local policies, Government agencies background, Local history, State of research on the subject, Role of public opinion, Study of metaphors, and Theories of educational policy analysis. The methodology is qualitative, through public meetings where they have included members of a scientific society (discussion group, discussion of a public document, document analysis, and new discussion group). We have regrouped those ideas in a narrative, which is plotted, and analyzed. Among the results show that academics are a complex mapping of the reality of the introduction of ICT in education, a discourse that permeates itself in other speeches, attending numerous variables, and stressing on the one hand that remains in preliminary stages of understanding the phenomenon of integration of ICT (hardware), while it reinforced the importance of building a narrative of the local in the transformation processes involved in such policies. Among the conclusions, scholars show a range of consensus and struggles to implement these policies that affect the entire educational system, because it calls into question the kind of teaching that is practiced and the type of school they can
