Under current models of logistics and distribution, the order cycle is too long to be efficient which coexist with high cost, uncontrollable risks and complicated procedure. These factors have hindered the development of cross-border e-commerce. In this case, the e-commerce overseas warehousing gradually come into being. How to overcome the contradiction of low-cost and fast delivery, take advantage of overseas warehouse building and successfully open up overseas markets, is an important issue needs to be discussed in the field of cross-border e-commerce. This paper talks from cross-border e-commerce and logistics distribution mode, discusses the rise of overseas warehouse building and analyze their strengths and weaknesses, then give a few suggestions to promote the construction and development of overseas warehouse

With the development of free trade zone, strategy of One Belt and One Road and the policy of cross-border e-commerce, many domestic electric business platforms enter into industry of cross-border electricity. Cross-border e-commerce which is a new business model has advantages, such as, fewer links, short processing cycle and low cost. It can powerfully develop today. However, cross-border logistics which is short slab of cross-border e-commerce restricts the development of cross-border e-commerce. Cross-border e-commerce that has multi-function, multiple frequency operation and comprehensive characteristics require logistics service has the characteristics of agility, high efficiency, low cost and visualization. The model of cross-border logistics in our country has many problems. For example, high cost, long time, incomplete logistics information system, lack of large-scale logistics service enterprises. This factors seriously restrict the development of cross-border e-commerce. In this paper, cross-border electricity development present in our country and its existing problems have been discussed, and we put forward relevant countermeasures. And the goal of the paper is to provide electric commercial enterprises some reference and experience

This article explores the opportunities, challenges, as well as the activities of the Chinese governmental and commercial stakeholders to promote cross-border e-commerce trade between China and Africa, based on the classification and correlation analysis of the literature from 2011 to 2019. The results show that the biggest driver for the development of China-Africa cross-border e-commerce trade is the gap between the rapid growth of the African population, especially the middle class, and the limited local capability to satisfy their demand. The rapid development of the internet and mobile internet is another driving factor. The biggest challenge is the last mile delivery of logistics, and online payment issues in Africa. At the macro-level the Chinese government has promoted measures such as infrastructure investment, e-commerce test zones and the establishment of pilot projects. At the firm level, Chinese companies have focused on solving practical micro-level local operational problems such as logistics, online payment, and talent training. The results also show that the referred literature is still in its infancy, mostly theoretical and less practical, and requires more in-depth domain specific analysis in the future

With many incentive policies recently released, cross-border e-commerce has been highly concerned by all sectors of society. As an emerging research field, it has great research value. Applying SATI to the keywords in CSSCI papers relevant to CBEC from the CNKI periodical database, we undergo bibliometric and visualization study in terms of word frequency analysis. The visualization analysis reveals that: (1) hot topics in CBEC research fall into 4 areas: e-commerce and international business, government policy and supervision, cross-border logistics and cross-border e-commerce finance; (2) prospective research will focus on talent training, synergy, big data, import , customs supervision, etc

Selecting Optimal Overseas Warehouse Location in Global Supply Chain: An Application of Binary Integer Programming

Overseas warehouses are crucial nodes in today's worldwide supply chain. They offer timely delivery of products to remote customers at a low cost and with few shipping issues. A foreign warehouse is a cross-border solution that may be used to solve cross-border B2B and B2C transactions. Strategically positioned warehouses allow organizations to effortlessly cross borders across multiple countries, regardless of where company headquarters and production or assembly units are situated. We argued that selecting an overseas warehouse site has always come down to determining where the majority of a company's foreign clients are located such that when a customer places an order, it is fulfilled by the distribution warehouse closest to that client. In this study, a warehouse site optimization framework was developed using Binary Integer Programming to help decision-makers choose the best region, or sites, to build an overseas warehouse facility to meet expected customer demands. The proposed model is focused on determining the appropriate placement of the warehouse from a set of potential locations in order to decrease the travel distance between warehouse facilities and overseas customers. The overseas customers are assumed to be served by the warehouse that is closest to them geographically. When the number of to be overseas customers served is large, they might be organized into clusters. This pre-processing is based on the assumption that the warehouse charged with servicing the overseas customers of a certain cluster would care for all of them in that cluster. We presented four distinct case situations with varying characteristics. The k-means approach is used within the context of Binary Integer Programming to divide C overseas customers into G distinct and non-overlapping subgroups. Warehouse site influences transportation costs, and when new supply routes are introduced or a current supply chain is re-engineered, a thorough warehouse placement analysis is required. The proposed model would hope to help choose the best location for warehouses as well as other immovable infrastructure in the global supply chain

Currently most cross-border e-commerce sellers are engaged in cross-border e-commerce through mainstream third-party platforms. But increasingly fierce homogenization competition on third-party platforms, sharp decline of traffic dividends, constantly iterative rules and changing policies, compressed profit margins all make it more and more difficult for the sellers to secure a place in marketplace. As a result, many sellers have begun to look for new growth models and independent station is one of them. This paper introduces the overall development of China’s cross-border e-commerce and background of the rise of independent station and its overall development over the last a few years. The paper explains how independent station works by making a contrast with third-party platforms, and exemplifies causes of the rise of independent station from several aspects through elaborating its benefits over that of third-party platforms and reasons why cross-border e-commerce sellers are turning to independent station. Based on the general introduction of the fundamental basics of independent station, the papers mainly elaborate the currently popular independent station operation models by explaining their characteristics, comparing their advantages and disadvantages of each of the models as well as giving examples of representative independent station companies. Since independent station is relatively a new mode of cross-border e-commerce and its development is immature thus the paper discusses some problems of independent station for the purpose of offering inspiration and enlightenment for cross-border e-commerce independent station sellers

This paper used Bibexcel, Netdraw and other software to obtain the bibliographic data of the literature, sourcing from CSSCI journals of China national knowledge infrastructure, in order to isolate the major academic groups of cross-border e-commerce and explore the evolution of keywords over the years. Also, the paper drew knowledge mapping according to the word frequency statistics and used keyword co-occurrence methods to investigate research topics and hotspots and clarified possible research trends. Results indicated that the number of cross-border e-commerce research achievements had grown rapidly, and the research themes primarily could be divided into six orientations. The study on cross-border e-commerce along the ‘Belt and Road’ countries has been increasing year by year. Furthermore, the research process should strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and the level of theoretical innovation should be improved
