    Methods for supporting the process of diffusion and use of innovations in the agro-based industries

    In the modern context, one of the priority tasks for the agricultural development is to create conditions for the prompt transfer of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) to a new technological base. The purpose of this study is to substantiate the tools for assessing the innovative profile of animal husbandry, production and processing of fodder resources; study of means to support dairy farming to identify the impact of government regulation on the diffusion and use of innovations. The study forms the author's paradigm for assessing the innovative state of animal husbandry based on the theories of diffusion of innovations, the most important elements of which are technology transfer and knowledge spillover. The influence of the existing instruments of state support on the diffusion of innovations in dairy cattle operations by groups of regions in Russia is revealed. It is proposed to use indicators of the scale and intensity of innovative support for dairy farming, as well as the regional index of innovative support (RIIS). The findings revealed the priority role of innovative support in increasing the commodity resources of milk; appropriate models of state support were proposed for various groups of regions. To identify the impact of innovative support of dairy farming, an innovativeness matrix has been developed, which can be used to assess the innovation potential of milk production and processing, based on the innovative support resources used. Such methodological approach makes it possible to assess the level of sufficiency of innovative support resources for a fuller use of the industrial potential of both milk production and processing

    Characteristics of Knowledge Cooperation Network in a Design-driven Domain: A Social Network Analysis

Abstract The field of scientific research is currently moving from an individual and single-discipline to a more cooperative discipline that combines various researchers and their capabilities. This study uses network analysis to explore the current situation and development trend characteristics of knowledge cooperation in the design field of Decoration. We construct large-scale networks using empirical data of sampled coauthored papers from 2008 to 2016. The main aims of this paper are: (a) to disclose different patterns of networking relationships among coauthored research works in the journal of Decoration and (b), to understand the mutual interaction of knowledge cooperation across regions and units in China’s field of design. The study found that the depth of knowledge cooperation in the field of design in China needed to be improved, the knowledge cooperation network also had a small-world effect, and the network community gradually emerged. In addition, the Chinese design field had made major advances in international cooperation, cross-regional cooperation, and diversification in the forms of research works. These findings could be used to recognize interdisciplinary and intra-disciplinary networks where research collaboration is supported and encouraged. However, there were still problems such as imbalanced levels of knowledge output among the groups.     The current investigation work utilized bibliometric and visualization techniques. Scopus bibliographic database sources used to retrieve data. Two thousand seven hundred sixty-four (2764) papers retrieved by applying the \u27Affiliation\u27 in Scopus\u27 simple search section. Biblioshiny (3.0), MS-Access, Excel, and VOS Viewer software used to analyze data and bibliometric indicator extraction employ to evaluate the research productivity of Banasthali University for a period of twenty-one years from 2000 to 2020. This data analysis leads to monitor the university\u27s past and present status to maps its future perspectives. This study ventured to examine the overall performance of the faculties and researchers of the Banasthali University in research productivity and publications.     Spatiotemporal analysis of droughts using self-calibrating Palmer’s Drought Severity Index in the central region of South Africa

    Published ArticleThe loss of life and property from drought events has forced society to focus on the development of reliable early warning systems which may enable farmers and other stakeholders to correctly and timely adapt to the expected impacts of climatic hazard. However, a scientific approach to a reliable early warning system for a region requires, among others, characterisation of drought events in the region in terms of duration, magnitude, intensity and frequency using standard drought indices. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify and characterise drought events in the Modder River basin, central region of South Africa, using a self-calibrated Palmer’s Drought Severity Index (sc-PDSI). Attempts were also made to establish a relationship between meteorological and hydrological drought events in the region. During the period of analysis, the total number of drought episodes identified in the study area ranged between eight and sixteen. It was found that the most severe drought episodes occurred during the period 1992–1995 followed by the period 1982–1987. Results of analysis of seasonal drought events in one of the quaternary catchments (C52A) revealed that peak drought events during the three summer months (November, December and January) occurred in the area in 1993. However, in terms of event magnitude and intensity, the worst drought events were recorded during the period December 1982–July 1987, followed by the event that ensued during December 1989–September 1995. Results of analysis of decadal variation of drought events showed that the number of extreme and moderate drought events recorded in the catchment showed statistically significant increasing trends during the five decades at 5 % significance level. Moreover, spectral analysis of sc-PDSI time series in the region identified periodicities in the time series ranging from 6 years (C52E) to 16 years (C52K). In terms of the spatial extent of extreme drought events, the maximum areal coverage (91 %) was recorded in November 1998, followed by December 1998 and December–January 1999 (43 %). Analysis of the relative frequency of droughts of varying categories revealed that extreme drought events were most prevalent in the C52E (2.72 %) quaternary catchment, followed by C52C (2.21 %). The study also found an average lag time of 10 months between the onsets of meteorological and hydrological drought events in the region

    Expansion of the current methodology for the study of the short-term liquidity problems in a sector

    Purpose: The aim of this work consists of defining and applying a new methodology for the calculation of short-term financial ratios that more reliably approximate the solvency of a sector. Design/methodology: We begin with a classic sector analysis and propose the creation of ratios that limit the debt repayment on an individual level and that do not imply the compensation of aggregate balances, as occurs with the current formulas of calculation. Findings: The new methodology more reliably approximates the solvency of a sector by being able to estimate with greater precision its global capacity for short-term debt repayment. Research limitations: The limitations to the proposed sector ratios are the same as the limitations of the customary individual ratios. Therefore, to offer an example, the ratios do not correct the assumption that the only source of resources to meet current liabilities is made up by available and liquid assets. In other words, no new tools are proposed to include future income from sales by the companies. Practical implications: To be able to study the solvency of the different sectors that make up the economy with more uniform criteria. Social implications: The information provided by the new ratios obtained in this work proves to be relevant information in the case of wanting to determine the degree of dependence of companies in a sector on financial institutions, or in the case of wanting to determine the degree of dependence on aid in a subsidized sector.     Isolation of two novel reassortant H3N6 avian influenza viruses from long-distance migratory birds in Jiangxi Province, China

    Two novel reassortant avian influenza A (H3N6) viruses were isolated from swan goose in Poyang Lake, Jiangxi Province, China, in 2014. Phylogenetic analyses indicated that these viruses are most likely derived from the Eurasian-originated H3Ny (N3, N6, N8) and H5N6 viruses circulating among wild and domestic birds. It is noteworthy that H9N2 viruses have contributed PB1 gene to these novel H3N6 viruses. Our findings provide phylogenetic evidence to elucidate the ongoing viral reassortment in the wild bird population in southern China.     Bibliometrics Analysis in Articles of Verbal Bullying in Schools

    Verbal bullying in schools has become the concern of the researcher. By using the verbal bullying AND “school” keywords, on the Scopus Database on March 12th, 2020, 115 documents were found. These documents were produced starting from 1999. The results of the bibliometrics analysis using Biblioshiny show that the most relevant source which has the highest H-Index for this theme is the Journal of School Violence. However, after observing each document, the article written by Wang J. in 2009 in the Journal of Adolescent Health is the one that receives the most citations. Meanwhile, Chen LM is the most productive writer in this field by producing 4 documents. Furthermore, the words that are most frequently mentioned in documents regarding verbal bullying in schools are related to gender, namely male and female, as well as the age of students in schools consisting of children and adolescents. The results of the analysis of the words that are most frequently expressed also indicate that verbal bullying in schools has received certain attention and studied from various disciplines. The results of this bibliometrics analysis are expected to be able to contribute to schools and other relevant parties in dealing with verbal bullying issues and create programs to minimize verbal bullying in schools
