Along with the times, information retrieval is no longer just on textual data, but also the visual data. The technique was originally used is Text-Based Image Retrieval (TBIR), but the technique still has some shortcomings such as the relevance of the picture successfully retrieved, and the specific space required to store meta-data in the image. Seeing the shortage of Text-Based Image Retrieval techniques, then other techniques were developed, namely Image Retrieval based on content or commonly called Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). In this research, CBIR will be discussed based on color, shape and texture using a color histogram, Gabor and SIFT. This study aimed to compare the results of image retrieval with some of these techniques. The results obtained are by combining color, shape and texture features, the performance of the system can be improved

emergence of multimedia technology and the rapidly expanding image collections on the database have attracted significant research efforts in providing tools for effective retrieval and management of visual data. The need to find a desired image from a large collection. Image retrieval is the field of study concerned with searching and retrieving digital image from a collection of database .In real images, regions are often homogenous; neighboring pixels usually have similar properties (shape, color, texture). In this paper we proposed novel image retrieval based on Block Truncation Coding (BTC) with Gabor wavelet co-occurrence matrix. For image retrieval the features like shape, color, texture, spatial relation, and correlation and Eigen values are considered. BTC can be used for grayscale as well as for color images. The average precision and recall of all queries are computed and considered for performance analysis

Effectiveness of MPEG-7 Color Features in Clothing Retrieval

Clothing is a human used to cover the body. Clothing consist of dress, pants, skirts, and others. Clothing usually consists of various colors or a combination of several colors. Colors become one of the important reference used by humans in determining or looking for clothing according to their wishes. Color is one of the features that fit the human vision. Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a technique in Image Retrieval that give index to an image based on the characteristics contained in image such as color, shape, and texture. CBIR can make it easier to find something because it helps the grouping process on image based on its characteristic. In this case CBIR is used for the searching process of Muslim fashion based on the color features. The color used in this research is the color descriptor MPEG-7 which is Scalable Color Descriptor (SCD) and Dominant Color Descriptor (DCD). The SCD color feature displays the overall color proportion of the image, while the DCD displays the most dominant color in the image. For each image of Muslim women\u27s clothing, the extraction process utilize SCD and DCD. This study used 150 images of Muslim women\u27s clothing as a dataset consistingclass of red, blue, yellow, green and brown. Each class consists of 30 images. The similarity between the image features is measured using the eucludian distance. This study used human perception in viewing the color of clothing. The effectiveness is calculated for the color features of SCD and DCD adjusted to the human subjective similarity. Based on the simulation of effectiveness DCD result system gives higher value than SCD

Geometrical Feature is a key issue in content based image retrieval (CBIR). In the prior work, various surface highlights have been proposed in writing, including literature, including statistic ethos and spectral methods. But in many cases most of them are not precisely captured. The most critical texture feature in an image called edge information. As of late, a portion of the authors on multi-scale analysis, particularly the curve-let research about, gave great chance to remove more accurate texture features for image recovery. Curve-let has indicated promising execution, anyway it was initially proposed for image de-noising. In this paper, another image include in view of curve-let transform has been proposed. We apply discrete curve-let transform on surface image and transformed images; we process the low order statistics. Images are then represented using the extracted texture features. We discuss design, implementation, and performance analysis of Tamara’s new statistical feature based image retrieval system. One of our major contributions is to propose a new scalable image retrieval scheme using shape and color based features, which is shown to be scalable to high dimensional of image data
