Evolution engine technology in exhaust gas recirculation for heavy-duty diesel engine
In this present year, engineers have been researching and inventing to get the optimum of less emission in every vehicle for a better environmental friendly. Diesel engines are known reusing of the exhaust gas in order to reduce the exhaust emissions such as NOx that contribute high factors in the pollution. In this paper, we have conducted a study that EGR instalment in the vehicle can be good as it helps to prevent highly amount of toxic gas formation, which NOx level can be lowered. But applying the EGR it can lead to more cooling and more space which will affect in terms of the costing. Throughout the research, fuelling in the engine affects the EGR producing less emission. Other than that, it contributes to the less of performance efficiency when vehicle load is less
A novel approach for ANFIS modelling based on Grey system theory for thermal error compensation
The fast and accurate modelling of thermal errors in machining is an important aspect for the implementation of thermal error compensation. This paper presents a novel modelling approach for thermal error compensation on CNC machine tools. The method combines the Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Grey system theory to predict thermal errors in machining. Instead of following a traditional approach, which utilises original data patterns to construct the ANFIS model, this paper proposes to exploit Accumulation Generation Operation (AGO) to simplify the modelling procedures. AGO, a basis of the Grey system theory, is used to uncover a development tendency so that the features and laws of integration hidden in the chaotic raw data can be sufďŹciently revealed. AGO properties make it easier for the proposed model to design and predict. According to the simulation results, the proposed model demonstrates stronger prediction power than standard ANFIS model only with minimum number of training samples
A novel technique for load frequency control of multi-area power systems
In this paper, an adaptive type-2 fuzzy controller is proposed to control the load frequency of a two-area power system based on descending gradient training and error back-propagation. The dynamics of the system are completely uncertain. The multilayer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural network structure is used to extract Jacobian and estimate the system model, and then, the estimated model is applied to the controller, online. A proportionalâderivative (PD) controller is added to the type-2 fuzzy controller, which increases the stability and robustness of the system against disturbances. The adaptation, being real-time and independency of the system parameters are new features of the proposed controller. Carrying out simulations on New England 39-bus power system, the performance of the proposed controller is compared with the conventional PI, PID and internal model control based on PID (IMC-PID) controllers. Simulation results indicate that our proposed controller method outperforms the conventional controllers in terms of transient response and stability

Intelligent Active Vibration Control for a Flexible Beam System
YesThis paper presents an investigation into the
development of an intelligent active vibration control
(AVC) system. Evolutionary Genetic algorithms (GAs)
and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference system (ANFIS)
algorithms are used to develop mechanisms of an AVC
system, where the controller is designed on the basis of
optimal vibration suppression using the plant model. A
simulation platform of a flexible beam system in
transverse vibration using finite difference (FD) method
is considered to demonstrate the capabilities of the AVC
system using GAs and ANFIS. MATLAB GA tool box for
GAs and Fuzzy Logic tool box for ANFIS function are
used for AVC system design. The system is then
implemented, tested and its performance assessed for GAs
and ANFIS based design. Finally a comparative
performance of the algorithm in implementing AVC
system using GAs and ANFIS is presented and discussed
through a set of experiments
Optimal Fuzzy Model Construction with Statistical Information using Genetic Algorithm
Fuzzy rule based models have a capability to approximate any continuous
function to any degree of accuracy on a compact domain. The majority of FLC
design process relies on heuristic knowledge of experience operators. In order
to make the design process automatic we present a genetic approach to learn
fuzzy rules as well as membership function parameters. Moreover, several
statistical information criteria such as the Akaike information criterion
(AIC), the Bhansali-Downham information criterion (BDIC), and the
Schwarz-Rissanen information criterion (SRIC) are used to construct optimal
fuzzy models by reducing fuzzy rules. A genetic scheme is used to design
Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) model for identification of the antecedent rule
parameters and the identification of the consequent parameters. Computer
simulations are presented confirming the performance of the constructed fuzzy
logic controller
