Sliding mode adaptive state observation for time-delay uncertain nonlinear systems
In this paper a method to design robust adaptive sliding mode observers (ASMO) for a class of nonlinear time- delay systems with uncertainties, is proposed. The objective is to achieve insensitivity and robustness of the proposed sliding mode observer to matched disturbances. A novel systematic design method is synthesized to solve matching conditions and compute observer stabilizing gains. The Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem is employed to prove the ultimate stability with arbitrary boundedness radius of the estimation error of the proposed filter. Finally, the ability of ASMO for fault reconstruction is studied
generalized multiple delay-dependent H∞, functional observer design for nonlinear system
Producción CientíficaFunctional observers are the major alternative to many practical estimation problems where full-order observers cannot be used. This paper introduces a generalized approach to design H∞ functional observers for a class of Lipschitz nonlinear systems with multiple time delays. Moreover, the considered system extends from previously published work in that it presents nonlinearity, multiple delay and external disturbance. Their main findings come from the development of a generalized augmented Lyapunov function that uses both the extended reciprocal convex combination and the Wirtinger inequality. The stability of the observer is therefore guaranteed by an LMI optimization problem. Finally, the steps of the design procedure were condensed and proffered for the two numerical examples to test the recommended design approach
Nonlinear Robust Observer Design Using An Invariant Manifold Approach
This paper presents a method to design a reduced order observer using an invariant manifold approach. The main
advantages of this method are that it enables a systematic design approach, and (unlike most nonlinear observer design
methods), it can be generalized over a larger class of nonlinear systems. The method uses specific mapping functions
in a way that minimises the error dynamics close to zero. Another important aspect is the robustness property which is
due to the manifold attractivity: an important feature when an observer is used in a closed loop control system. A two
degree-of-freedom system is used as an example. The observer design is validated using numerical simulation. Then
experimental validation is carried out using hardware-in-the-loop testing. The proposed observer is then compared with
a very well known nonlinear observer based on the off-line solution of the Riccati equation for systems with Lipschitz
type nonlinearity. In all cases, the performance of the proposed observer is shown to be very high
Global Stabilization of Triangular Systems with Time-Delayed Dynamic Input Perturbations
A control design approach is developed for a general class of uncertain
strict-feedback-like nonlinear systems with dynamic uncertain input
nonlinearities with time delays. The system structure considered in this paper
includes a nominal uncertain strict-feedback-like subsystem, the input signal
to which is generated by an uncertain nonlinear input unmodeled dynamics that
is driven by the entire system state (including unmeasured state variables) and
is also allowed to depend on time delayed versions of the system state variable
and control input signals. The system also includes additive uncertain
nonlinear functions, coupled nonlinear appended dynamics, and uncertain dynamic
input nonlinearities with time-varying uncertain time delays. The proposed
control design approach provides a globally stabilizing delay-independent
robust adaptive output-feedback dynamic controller based on a dual dynamic
high-gain scaling based structure.Comment: 2017 IEEE International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC
H ? filtering for stochastic singular fuzzy systems with time-varying delay
This paper considers the H? filtering problem
for stochastic singular fuzzy systems with timevarying
delay. We assume that the state and measurement
are corrupted by stochastic uncertain exogenous
disturbance and that the system dynamic is modeled
by Ito-type stochastic differential equations. Based on
an auxiliary vector and an integral inequality, a set of
delay-dependent sufficient conditions is established,
which ensures that the filtering error system is e?t -
weighted integral input-to-state stable in mean (iISSiM).
A fuzzy filter is designed such that the filtering
error system is impulse-free, e?t -weighted iISSiM and
the H? attenuation level from disturbance to estimation
error is belowa prescribed scalar.Aset of sufficient
conditions for the solvability of the H? filtering problem
is obtained in terms of a new type of Lyapunov
function and a set of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation
examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness
of the proposed filtering approach developed in
this paper

First of all, we recall several important algorithms suitable for gain-scheduling method including gain-scheduled proportional-integral derivative (PID) control, H 2, H ∞ and mixed H 2 / H ∞ gain-scheduling methods as well as fuzzy gain-scheduling techniques. Secondly, various important parameter-varying system models are reviewed, for which gain-scheduled control and filtering issues are usually dealt with. In particular, in view of the randomly occurring phenomena with time-varying probability distributions, some results of our recent work based on the probability-dependent gain-scheduling methods are reviewed. Furthermore, some latest progress in this area is discussed. Finally, conclusions are drawn and several potential future research directions are outlined. The National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants 61074016, 61374039, 61304010, and 61329301; the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province of China under Grant BK20130766; the Program for Professor of Special Appointment (Eastern Scholar) at Shanghai Institutions of Higher Learning; the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University under Grant NCET-11-1051, the Leverhulme Trust of the U.K., the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany

This paper investigates the problem of H∞ filtering for class discrete-time Lipschitz nonlinear singular systems with measurement quantization. Assume that the system measurement output is quantized by a static, memoryless, and logarithmic quantizer before it is transmitted to the filter, while the quantizer errors can be treated as sector-bound uncertainties. The attention of this paper is focused on the design of a nonlinear quantized H∞ filter to mitigate quantization effects and ensure that the filtering error system is admissible (asymptotically stable, regular, and causal), while having a unique solution with a prescribed H∞ noise attenuation level. By introducing some slack variables and using the Lyapunov stability theory, some sufficient conditions for the existence of the nonlinear quantized H∞ filter are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed quantized filter design method
