Reactive preferential structures and nonmonotonic consequence
We introduce information bearing systems (IBRS) as an abstraction of many
logical systems. We define a general semantics for IBRS, and show that IBRS
generalize in a natural way preferential semantics and solve open
representation problems
Conditionals and modularity in general logics
In this work in progress, we discuss independence and interpolation and
related topics for classical, modal, and non-monotonic logics
Defeasible inheritance systems and reactive diagrams
We give an analysis of defeasible inheritance diagrams, also from the
perspective of reactive diagrams
Independence - revision and defaults
We investigate different aspects of independence here, in the context of
theory revision, generalizing slightly work by Chopra, Parikh, and Rodrigues,
and in the context of preferential reasoning
Logical tools for handling change in agent-based systems
We give a unified approach to various results and problems of nonclassical
logic
Cumulativity without closure of the domain under finite unions
For nonmonotonic logics, Cumulativity is an important rule. We show here that
Cumulativity fans out into an infinity of different conditions, if the domain
is not closed under finite unions
Critical analysis of the Carmo-Jones system of Contrary-to-Duty obligations
We offer a technical analysis of the contrary to duty system proposed in
Carmo-Jones. We offer analysis/simplification/repair of their system and
compare it with our own related system
