Definition and Validation of a Business IT Alignment Method for Enterprise Governance Improvement in the Context of Processes Based Organizations
These days, it is remarkable to note the growing of interest in professional responsibility. Specifically, the responsibility a person commits to when he or she performs a task. Based on a review of research currently performed in the field of policy (from corporate to technical ones), we observe that the perception of responsibility has often been limited to a combination of rights and obligations. In addition, we are seeing a re-emergence in business (for example, in the financial sector) of a belief that business ethics foundation can be improved and that a renewed focus in this area would help to prevent future breakdowns in the system. With regard to improving business/IT alignment and corporate ICT governance, it becomes increasingly important to define a commonly accepted personal responsibility model that embodies important and well-known concepts like accountability, capability and commitment. Moreover, because responsibility constitutes a fundamental notion of management theory, it is likewise identified as a meaningful bridge toward organizational artifacts. Exploiting process-based approach to define policy seems to offer new research opportunities since process-based organization becomes a continuous widely spread structure.ICT Governance, Responsibility model, Capability, Accountability, Commitment.
A survey of security issue in multi-agent systems
Multi-agent systems have attracted the attention of researchers because of agents' automatic, pro-active, and dynamic problem solving behaviors. Consequently, there has been a rapid development in agent technology which has enabled us to provide or receive useful and convenient services in a variety of areas such as banking, transportation, e-business, and healthcare. In many of these services, it is, however, necessary that security is guaranteed. Unless we guarantee the security services based on agent-based systems, these services will face significant deployment problems. In this paper, we survey existing work related to security in multi-agent systems, especially focused on access control and trust/reputation, and then present our analyses. The Australian PCEHR System: Ensuring Privacy and Security through an Improved Access Control Mechanism
An Electronic Health Record (EHR) is designed to store diverse data
accurately from a range of health care providers and to capture the status of a
patient by a range of health care providers across time. Realising the numerous
benefits of the system, EHR adoption is growing globally and many countries
invest heavily in electronic health systems. In Australia, the Government
invested $467 million to build key components of the Personally Controlled
Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) system in July 2012. However, in the last
three years, the uptake from individuals and health care providers has not been
satisfactory. Unauthorised access of the PCEHR was one of the major barriers.
We propose an improved access control model for the PCEHR system to resolve the
unauthorised access issue. We discuss the unauthorised access issue with real
examples and present a potential solution to overcome the issue to make the
PCEHR system a success in Australia
