    Optimization and Control of Cyber-Physical Vehicle Systems

    A cyber-physical system (CPS) is composed of tightly-integrated computation, communication and physical elements. Medical devices, buildings, mobile devices, robots, transportation and energy systems can benefit from CPS co-design and optimization techniques. Cyber-physical vehicle systems (CPVSs) are rapidly advancing due to progress in real-time computing, control and artificial intelligence. Multidisciplinary or multi-objective design optimization maximizes CPS efficiency, capability and safety, while online regulation enables the vehicle to be responsive to disturbances, modeling errors and uncertainties. CPVS optimization occurs at design-time and at run-time. This paper surveys the run-time cooperative optimization or co-optimization of cyber and physical systems, which have historically been considered separately. A run-time CPVS is also cooperatively regulated or co-regulated when cyber and physical resources are utilized in a manner that is responsive to both cyber and physical system requirements. This paper surveys research that considers both cyber and physical resources in co-optimization and co-regulation schemes with applications to mobile robotic and vehicle systems.     Taguchi Method and Artificial Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based Validation of Enzyme Production: A review

    Numbers of reports on enzyme production enhancements (from bacteria and fungi) are present in the literature by using One Variable at Time (OVAT) based optimization of medium components. OVAT strategy is not suitable for the cost-effective production of enzymes in lieu of modern statistical and artificially intelligent techniques like Response Surface Methodology (RSM), Taguchi Method and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Artificial Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) etc. The Taguchi Method and ANFIS enzyme yield prediction results are in consonance with those produced by the RSM system and in fact are more closer to the actual enzyme yield. This shows the application of the proposed system in enzyme yield prediction given a set of parameter values

    Introspecting Preferences in Answer Set Programming

    This paper develops a logic programming language, ASP^EP, that extends answer set programming language with a new epistemic operator >~_x where x in {#,supseteq}. The operator are used between two literals in rules bodies, and thus allows for the representation of introspections of preferences in the presence of multiple belief sets: G >~_# F expresses that G is preferred to F by the cardinality of the sets, and G >~_supseteq F expresses G is preferred to F by the set-theoretic inclusion. We define the semantics of ASP^EP, explore the relation to the languages of strong introspections, and study the applications of ASP^EP by modeling the Monty Hall problem and the principle of majority
