Synchronising Wisdom and Implementation: A Formal ODD Approach to Expressing Insights on Bullying
Paper IV and V is excluded from the dissertation until it is published. The Social Simulation methodology, a mix of traditionally unassociated fields, utilises computer models to describe, understand, predict, and reflect on social phenomena. The model creation process typically requires the integration of knowledge insights from academic and non-academic knowledge holders. To ensure model quality, different processes are established in an effort to verify the alignment of knowledge insights and their implementation in the simulation model by the modelling team. However, due to a lack of technical skills, knowledge holders, who may not fully understand the model code, often perform these verification checks indirectly, for example by evaluating conceptual model descriptions. Initially motivated to create quality models of social conflict, this dissertation approaches the model quality challenge with a Domain Specific Modelling (DSM) approach. The objective was to develop a DSM tool using the Design Methodology, supplemented by a case study to provide first-hand experience with the quality challenge. Based on our project requirements, we selected University bullying as the case study subject. The Design Methodology included the problem exploration, the identification of a DSM solution, the selection of a domain and programming language for the DSM tool, the agile development of the domain language aspects with test models, and a final evaluation using the case study model.acceptedVersio
Iterative musical collaboration as palimpsest: Suite Inversée and The Headroom Project
Suite inversée is a musical work, co-composed by the two authors asynchronously
online by means of file transfer alone and digitally presented using a self-made web
app called The Headroom Project. The Headroom Project mediates the compositional
project during creation as well as allowing the listener to browse a historical thread
that weaves through the developmental process: through this app, each audio file that
was shared between the two composers can be heard and considered both in and out
of the context of its creation. The framework of the project provided the opportunity
for the authors to reflect on issues of remote digital collaboration and the palimpsest
nature of a work revealed in varying stages of evolution through a novel mode of
presentation. This paper discusses the mode of creation by situating it within narratives
of composition and technology

Building the Foundation for a Necessary Debate: Projectification of Society
Projectification is the phenomenon whereby activities traditionally carried out in a functional
manner are approached as projects. It also includes the transformation processes of organisations as
project management and non-functional structures. It is a phenomenon that has become important
in recent years. It has brought great benefits to organisations and public administration, and it has
optimised the use of economic resources. On the other hand, projectification also brings undesirable
effects, known as the dark side of projectification. Several years after the first time projectification
was coined, a deep debate about projectification has been necessary to make the most of all possible
levels. This research, through a bibliometric analysis and a review of the most outstanding literature,
identifies those aspects that need to be discussed and where there is room for improvement. The
results, with an important set of disadvantages of projectification, sometimes not taken into account,
especially at the individual level, establish a solid basis for the debate on projectification and the
possible points of improvement from all perspectives (individual, organisational and societal). These
perspectives should be observed as different but complementary, forming a holistic understanding
of projectification
