An overview of information extraction techniques for legal document analysis and processing

    Get PDF
In an Indian law system, different courts publish their legal proceedings every month for future reference of legal experts and common people. Extensive manual labor and time are required to analyze and process the information stored in these lengthy complex legal documents. Automatic legal document processing is the solution to overcome drawbacks of manual processing and will be very helpful to the common man for a better understanding of a legal domain. In this paper, we are exploring the recent advances in the field of legal text processing and provide a comparative analysis of approaches used for it. In this work, we have divided the approaches into three classes NLP based, deep learning-based and, KBP based approaches. We have put special emphasis on the KBP approach as we strongly believe that this approach can handle the complexities of the legal domain well. We finally discuss some of the possible future research directions for legal document analysis and processing

The concept of the project is to utilize the abundant solar energy available, harness it for effective work output. Here we are trying to use solar energy to run the centrifugal pump for lifting the water from the well. This can be utilized for different purpose like irrigation for agriculture & nurseries, etc. Here we are collecting all information about which kind of constraints required for planning of standalone pumping station for agriculture purpose. In this paper we are finding out which are power electronics applications in renewable energy sources. This document will help all researcher to start work on Solar PV’s, irrigation using renewable energy , as well as for finding the power electronics application in renewable energy sources. Internet de las cosas y la Salud centrada en el Hogar

    Get PDF

Open Source Solution Based Indian ETD Repositories: A Status Report

The study discuss the status of open access full text Open Source Solution based ETD repositories exclusive of Institutional Repository in which Theses are part of the collections. The methodology used for this study includes visiting of websites of ETD repositories listed on OpenDOAR and ROAR to ascertain the working status of such repositories and the results are reported. The finding shows that at National level only Shodhganga is in active state and at Institutional level only 3 exclusive open access ETD repositories are active

Green jobs and decent work: An agenda for sustainable agriculture in India

    Get PDF
The paper seeks to explore the opportunities created by climate change and mitigation efforts in agriculture sector in India for creating more, newer and better jobs. These new jobs which are termed as green jobs are not always going to be decent jobs and there is also uncertainty about the number of jobs so created vis-à-vis number of jobs destroyed in traditional fossil fuel based economy. Pivotal role played by agriculture in developing country's economy makes it ideal sector to study in this context. There is growing consensus that organic, sustainable agricultural practices can provide synergistic benefits that include adaptation and mitigation of climate change with addressing concerns like livelihood, employment and working conditions. In an emerging country like India, sustainable agriculture can help in meeting twin challenges of food security and job creation. This so called Double Dividend can positively affect the thinking of policy makers and public at large towards contributing to meeting of mitigation and adaption challenge with respect to climate change. However, this requires close integration of agricultural, environmental and labour policy. The present study is based on extensive literature survey and expert interaction. Paper seeks to integrate these varied factors and it is argued that emphasis on sustainable/organic farming will create more and better jobs in India and help in poverty reduction and improving life standards. --Agriculture,Green Jobs,India

Open Source Solution based Indian ETD repositories - A Status Report

ETD repositories of India are based on institutional level and national level. Shodhganga a national level open access ETD repository set-up using open source software (OSS) called DSpace holds the largest number of full text theses. ETD repositories of some institutions are based either on open source software’s or commercial software or in-house developed software. Some institutional efforts includes initiatives by Indian Institutes of Technology’s (IITs), National Institute of Technology’s (NIT’s), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) labs, and by some universities and institutions. The Directory of Open Access Repository (OpenDOAR) displays 39 results upon search execution by content type - Theses, whereas Registry of Open Access Repository (ROAR) displays 11 results upon search execution by e-Theses repository type as on 29th March 2018. However the results displayed are not exhaustive as the registration is voluntary and not mandatory in OpenDOAR and ROAR. The current study undertaken reports the status of open access full text Open Source Solution based ETD repositories exclusive of Institutional Repository in which Theses are part of the collections.

Analysis of Information Visualization Techniques for Abstract data on Mobile Devices

    Get PDF
To perform visualization on mobile devices different types of data may use like text, picture, maps, physical objects, abstract data etc. According to data visualization is categorized in two areas of visualization that is, scientific visualization and information visualization. Scientific visualization refers to some specific type of data like physical data and it is used for computer modeling and simulation. Information visualization refers to abstract data and used in business and finance, administration, digital media and other abstract concepts. The physical and abstract data is only one classification but there are others classification like static and dynamic data, structured and unstructured data, or hierarchical and non-hierarchical data classification. This paper is focus on information visualization of abstract data on mobile devices

A framework for cots software evaluation and selection for COTS mismatches handling and non-functional requirements

    Get PDF
The decision to purchase Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software needs systematic guidelines so that the appropriate COTS software can be selected in order to provide a viable and effective solution to the organizations. However, the existing COTS software evaluation and selection frameworks focus more on functional aspects and do not give adequate attention to accommodate the mismatch between user requirements and COTS software specification, and also integration with non functional requirements of COTS software. Studies have identified that these two criteria are important in COTS software evaluation and selection. Therefore, this study aims to develop a new framework of COTS software evaluation and selection that focuses on handling COTS software mismatches and integrating the nonfunctional requirements. The study is conducted using mixed-mode methodology which involves survey and interview. The study is conducted in four main phases: a survey and interview of 63 organizations to identify COTS software evaluation criteria, development of COTS software evaluation and selection framework using Evaluation Theory, development of a new decision making technique by integrating Analytical Hierarchy Process and Gap Analysis to handle COTS software mismatches, and validation of the practicality and reliability of the proposed COTS software Evaluation and Selection Framework (COTS-ESF) using experts’ review, case studies and yardstick validation. This study has developed the COTS-ESF which consists of five categories of evaluation criteria: Quality, Domain, Architecture, Operational Environment and Vendor Reputation. It also provides a decision making technique and a complete process for performing the evaluation and selection of COTS software. The result of this study shows that the evaluated aspects of the framework are feasible and demonstrate their potential and practicality to be applied in the real environment. The contribution of this study straddles both the research and practical perspectives of software evaluation by improving decision making and providing a systematic guidelines for handling issue in purchasing viable COTS software
