Review of recent research towards power cable life cycle management

Power cables are integral to modern urban power transmission and distribution systems. For power cable asset managers worldwide, a major challenge is how to manage effectively the expensive and vast network of cables, many of which are approaching, or have past, their design life. This study provides an in-depth review of recent research and development in cable failure analysis, condition monitoring and diagnosis, life assessment methods, fault location, and optimisation of maintenance and replacement strategies. These topics are essential to cable life cycle management (LCM), which aims to maximise the operational value of cable assets and is now being implemented in many power utility companies. The review expands on material presented at the 2015 JiCable conference and incorporates other recent publications. The review concludes that the full potential of cable condition monitoring, condition and life assessment has not fully realised. It is proposed that a combination of physics-based life modelling and statistical approaches, giving consideration to practical condition monitoring results and insulation response to in-service stress factors and short term stresses, such as water ingress, mechanical damage and imperfections left from manufacturing and installation processes, will be key to success in improved LCM of the vast amount of cable assets around the world

PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT PRODUKTIF MELALUI PROGRAM SENYUM MANDIRI DALAM PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI MUSTAHIQ DI RUMAH ZAKAT CABANG CIREBON

Poverty is a complex problem that is influenced by various interrelated factors. In the principles of Islamic economics, several economic instruments can help social interests, one of them is the use of zakat funds. Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam which is functioned to help the needy, poor, and Dhu'afa by spending part of their assets. Through good zakat management, it is hoped that it can reduce poverty and even make welfare rates evenly distributed. The welfare of Mustahiq is the most important part of the goal of managing zakat. Therefore Rumah Zakat has an empowerment program to increase the economic level of Mustahiq in the form of an independent smile program. This research is descriptive qualitative research that aims to determine the management of productive zakat at Rumah Zakat in the economic empowerment of Mustahiq through the Senyum Mandiri program. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, documentation, and data triangulation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Senyum Mandiri Program in economic empowerment through productive zakat is very helpful in alleviating poverty, and through this program, the recipients of funds receive business guidance so that they gain skills in entrepreneurship Abstrak Kemiskinan merupakan masalah kompleks yang dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor yang saling berkaitan. Dalam prinsip ekonomi Islam terdapat beberapa instrumen ekonomi yang dapat membantu kepentingan sosial salah satunya pemanfaatan dana zakat. Zakat merupakan salah satu rukun islam yang difungsikan untuk menolong orang yang fakir, miskin dan kaum dhu’afa dengan mengeluarkan sebagian harta yang dimiliki. Melalui pengelolaan zakat yang baik, sangat diharapkan dapat mengurangi angka kemiskinan dan bahkan membuat angka kesejahteraan secara merata. Kesejahteraan mustahiq merupakan bagian terpenting dalam tujuan pengelolaan zakat. Oleh karena itu Rumah Zakat memiliki program pemberdayaan untuk meningkatkan taraf ekonomi mustahiq berupa program senyum mandiri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengelolaan zakat produktif di Rumah Zakat dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi mustahiq melalui program Senyum Mandiri.Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi data. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa Program Senyum Mandiri dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi melalui zakat produktif ini sangat membantu dalam pengentasan kemiskinan dan melalui program ini penerima dana meperoleh bimbingan usaha sehingga mendapatkan skill dalam berwirausaha.   &nbsp

Community standards for open cell migration data

Cell migration research has become a high-content field. However, the quantitative information encapsulated in these complex and high-dimensional datasets is not fully exploited owing to the diversity of experimental protocols and non-standardized output formats. In addition, typically the datasets are not open for reuse. Making the data open and Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) will enable meta-analysis, data integration, and data mining. Standardized data formats and controlled vocabularies are essential for building a suitable infrastructure for that purpose but are not available in the cell migration domain. We here present standardization efforts by the Cell Migration Standardisation Organisation (CMSO), an open community-driven organization to facilitate the development of standards for cell migration data. This work will foster the development of improved algorithms and tools and enable secondary analysis of public datasets, ultimately unlocking new knowledge of the complex biological process of cell migration
