ClouNS - A Cloud-native Application Reference Model for Enterprise Architects
The capability to operate cloud-native applications can generate enormous
business growth and value. But enterprise architects should be aware that
cloud-native applications are vulnerable to vendor lock-in. We investigated
cloud-native application design principles, public cloud service providers, and
industrial cloud standards. All results indicate that most cloud service
categories seem to foster vendor lock-in situations which might be especially
problematic for enterprise architectures. This might sound disillusioning at
first. However, we present a reference model for cloud-native applications that
relies only on a small subset of well standardized IaaS services. The reference
model can be used for codifying cloud technologies. It can guide technology
identification, classification, adoption, research and development processes
for cloud-native application and for vendor lock-in aware enterprise
architecture engineering methodologies
Practical Use of Cloud Systems in Project Management
The thesis is focused on a description of cloud system services and their application in project management of a non-profit organization. Theoretical introduction into cloud systems services is concerned in the first part of the thesis. Consequently features of several best known cloud system services will be described. Described systems will be further compared for usage in a particular project planning. Selection of the optimal cloud service solution will be determined in the conclusion.

Борсуковський Ю.В., Борсуковська В.Ю.
Borsukovskyi Y., Borsukovska V. Model for Cryptography Protection of Confidential Information
Current article provides the detailed analysis of requirements for creation of model for cryptography protection of confidential information. Article defines the use of information cryptography protection tools in order to ensure the application of organizational and technical actions to prevent leakage of confidential information at critical infrastructure assets. It provides the basic requirements for the structure and functional elements of model for protection of confidential information. Formalize requirements on creation, implementation and exploitation of preventive procedure in management of multi-level protection of confidential information. The article includes example of use of model for cryptography protection of information for creation of secure and transparent in use the authenticating data base of user. The presented model of protection ensures to have a few levels of firewalls, that, on one hand, simplifies its use in execution of acting security policies and decrease the probability of discrediting of authenticating data, and, on other hand, increase the probability to detect the criminal actions of third party by means of multi-level protection system. It considers the practical experience in creation of standard models for protection of confidential information for development, implementation and management of modern policies on information security in part of use of cryptography protection tools for confidential information at enterprises of different forms of incorporation
Checkpointing as a Service in Heterogeneous Cloud Environments
A non-invasive, cloud-agnostic approach is demonstrated for extending
existing cloud platforms to include checkpoint-restart capability. Most cloud
platforms currently rely on each application to provide its own fault
tolerance. A uniform mechanism within the cloud itself serves two purposes: (a)
direct support for long-running jobs, which would otherwise require a custom
fault-tolerant mechanism for each application; and (b) the administrative
capability to manage an over-subscribed cloud by temporarily swapping out jobs
when higher priority jobs arrive. An advantage of this uniform approach is that
it also supports parallel and distributed computations, over both TCP and
InfiniBand, thus allowing traditional HPC applications to take advantage of an
existing cloud infrastructure. Additionally, an integrated health-monitoring
mechanism detects when long-running jobs either fail or incur exceptionally low
performance, perhaps due to resource starvation, and proactively suspends the
job. The cloud-agnostic feature is demonstrated by applying the implementation
to two very different cloud platforms: Snooze and OpenStack. The use of a
cloud-agnostic architecture also enables, for the first time, migration of
applications from one cloud platform to another.Comment: 20 pages, 11 figures, appears in CCGrid, 201

Coal mine low power laser methane detection and alarm instrument
At present, the portable carrier catalytic methane detection and alarm instrument for coal mine generally has many problems, such as high power consumption, short standby time, low detection accuracy, few parameters and single function, which can not meet the rapid development needs of mine safety. In this paper, a low power portable laser methane detection and alarm instrument based on tunable laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) is designed. The instrument can detect methane concentration, ambient temperature and ambient pressure at the same time. It has the functions of sound and light alarm, historical data storage and query, and integrates Wi-Fi to realize data wireless transmission. The instrument can work continuously for 36 hours, and the response time is less than 15 seconds. It has the function of self-diagnosis. The overall performance of the instrument has been greatly improved compared with the traditional mine methane portable instrument. A mobile methane alarm Internet of things(IOT) system for coal mine based on portable instrument has been developed, which realizes real-time upload of data and cloud analysis, makes the traditional mine gas monitoring and control system powerfully supplemented, greatly improves the detection level of coal mine gas, and has broad application prospects
