    Periodic Solutions and Homoclinic Bifurcations of Two Predator-Prey Systems with Nonmonotonic Functional Response and Impulsive Harvesting

    Two predator-prey models with nonmonotonic functional response and state-dependent impulsive harvesting are formulated and analyzed. By using the geometry theory of semicontinuous dynamic system, we obtain the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the periodic solution and analyse the dynamic phenomenon of homoclinic bifurcation of the first system by choosing the harvesting rate β as control parameter. Besides, we also study the homoclinic bifurcation of the second system about parameter δ on the basis of the theory of rotated vector field. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the results

    Hopf bifurcation and optimal control in a diffusive predator-prey system with time delay and prey harvesting

    In this paper, we investigated the dynamics of a diffusive delayed predator-prey system with Holling type II functional response and nozero constant prey harvesting on no-flux boundary condition. At first, we obtain the existence and the stability of the equilibria by analyzing the distribution of the roots of associated characteristic equation. Using the time delay as the bifurcation parameter and the harvesting term as the control parameter, we get the existence and the stability of Hopf bifurcation at the positive constant steady state. Applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument for partial functional differential equations, we derive an explicit formula for determining the direction and the stability of Hopf bifurcation. Finally, an optimal control problem has been considered

    STABILITY ANALYSIS AND HOPF BIFURCATION OF DENSITY-DEPENDENT PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEMS WITH BEDDINGTON-DEANGELIS FUNCTIONAL RESPONSE

    In this article, we study a density-dependent predator-prey system with the Beddington-DeAngelis functional response for stability and Hopf bifurcation under certain parametric conditions. We start with the condition of the existence of the unique positive equilibrium, and provide two sufficient conditions for its local stability by the Lyapunov function method and the Routh-Hurwitz criterion, respectively. Then, we establish sufficient conditions for the global stability of the positive equilibrium by proving the non-existence of closed orbits in the first quadrant R²+. Afterwards, we analyze the Hopf bifurcation geometrically by exploring the monotonic property of the trace of the Jacobean matrix with respect to r and analytically verifying that there is a unique r* such that the trace is equal to 0. We also introduce an auxiliary map by restricting all the five parameters to a special one-dimensional geometrical structure and analyze the Hopf bifurcation with respect to all these five parameters. Finally, some numerical simulations are illustrated which are in agreement with our analytical results
