An efficient approximation to the correlated Nakagami-m sums and its application in equal gain diversity receivers
There are several cases in wireless communications theory where the
statistics of the sum of independent or correlated Nakagami-m random variables
(RVs) is necessary to be known. However, a closed-form solution to the
distribution of this sum does not exist when the number of constituent RVs
exceeds two, even for the special case of Rayleigh fading. In this paper, we
present an efficient closed-form approximation for the distribution of the sum
of arbitrary correlated Nakagami-m envelopes with identical and integer fading
parameters. The distribution becomes exact for maximal correlation, while the
tightness of the proposed approximation is validated statistically by using the
Chi-square and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov goodness-of-fit tests. As an application,
the approximation is used to study the performance of equal-gain combining
(EGC) systems operating over arbitrary correlated Nakagami-m fading channels,
by utilizing the available analytical results for the error-rate performance of
an equivalent maximal-ratio combining (MRC) system
Level crossing rate of SC receiver over gamma shadowed Weibull multipath fading channel
The wireless telecommunication system consisting of selection combining (SC) receiver which works in Gamma shadowed Weibull multiple-faded channel is discussed in this work. The received signal suffers Weibull small scale fading which leads in variation of the signal envelope and Gamma large scale fading which results in variation of the SC receiver output signal envelope power. SC receiver is utilized to abate the impact of Gamma large scale fading effects and Weibull small scale fading effects on system characteristics. The formula for average level crossing rate (LCR) of signal envelope at SC combiner output is performed in the closed shape. The result we get can be applied to calculate the average fade duration (AFD) of such wireless systems. The obtained solutions are plotted in a few graphs to point out the impact of Weibull fading envelope severity parameter and Gamma shadowing severity parameter on system features
Uticaj nesavršene ekstrakcije referentnog nosioca na performanse diverziti prijemnika digitalno fazno modulisanih signala u kanalu sa fedingom
The results of the research, presented in this dissertation, refer to the analysis of imperfect reference signal recovery influence on performance of digital systems with BPSK and QPSK modulation and diversity at the reception applied. In order to make the content easy for understanding, the theoretical basics, necessary for calculations performed in the following chapters, has been presented at the beginning. In the analysis of the imperfect reference signalrecovery influence on the performance of single channel systems for BPSK and QPSK signal detection two cases have been considered.
The analysis has been performed for Hoyt and composite Kg fading channel. ..
Advanced Trends in Wireless Communications
Physical limitations on wireless communication channels impose huge challenges to reliable communication. Bandwidth limitations, propagation loss, noise and interference make the wireless channel a narrow pipe that does not readily accommodate rapid flow of data. Thus, researches aim to design systems that are suitable to operate in such channels, in order to have high performance quality of service. Also, the mobility of the communication systems requires further investigations to reduce the complexity and the power consumption of the receiver. This book aims to provide highlights of the current research in the field of wireless communications. The subjects discussed are very valuable to communication researchers rather than researchers in the wireless related areas. The book chapters cover a wide range of wireless communication topics
