Public policies and food security and family farming networks: contributions to the construction of effectiveness indicators.
This work presents a methodology for investigating the performance of public politics regarding food security networks formed in Brazilian municipalities aimed at increasing income and employment in familiar farming. These programs need to further develop the methodologies used for studying their efficiency so that they can reach a new stage in the improvement and use of management tools thereby achieving beteer results of social inclusion and/or food security. This paper constitutes a first effort to bring together indicators for the evaluation of the efficiency of public politicies
Building creative confidence in idea management processes to improve idea generation in new product development teams
This is a scoping paper that aims to establish effective practices and key players in the domain of Idea Management. The paper defines Idea Management as the generation, evaluation and selection of ideas. The purpose of the paper is to map the current landscape of methodologies and tools in order to identify gaps and support the development of a framework to enhance creative confidence in idea management. The study has two key research questions: (i) what factors are influencing current idea generation practices and (ii) what tools and approaches exist for idea generation. This will help identify how creative confidence can influence the idea generation processes. Creative confidence is the capability to come up with breakthrough ideas, associated with the bravery to perform. If stimulated in the right way with a valuable framework, its impact on employees’ performance is significant in improving team members’ innovation performance and quality of ideas

Different tools use different estimation techniques but generally only analyze the three most used metrics as av bw, relative error and estimation time. This work expands the information regarding the evaluation literature of the current Available Bandwidth Estimation Tools (ABET’s), where they analyze the estimation techniques, metrics, different generation tools of cross-traf?c and evaluation testbed; Concentrating on the techniques and estimation methodologies used, as well as the challenges faced by open-source tools in high-performance networks of 10Gbps or higher

Optimal Base Station Placement: A Stochastic Method Using Interference Gradient In Downlink Case
In this paper, we study the optimal placement and optimal number of base
stations added to an existing wireless data network through the interference
gradient method. This proposed method considers a sub-region of the existing
wireless data network, hereafter called region of interest. In this region, the
provider wants to increase the network coverage and the users throughput. In
this aim, the provider needs to determine the optimal number of base stations
to be added and their optimal placement. The proposed approach is based on the
Delaunay triangulation of the region of interest and the gradient descent
method in each triangle to compute the minimum interference locations. We

JMT – Performance Engineering Tools for System Modeling
We present the Java Modelling Tools (JMT) suite, an integrated
framework of Java tools for performance evaluation of computer
systems using queueing models. The suite offers a rich user interface that simplifies the definition of performance models by means of wizard dialogs and of a graphical design workspace.
The performance evaluation features of JMT span a wide range
of state-of-the-art methodologies including discrete-event simulation, mean value analysis of product-form networks, analytical identification of bottleneck resources in multiclass environments, and workload characterization with fuzzy clustering. The discrete-event simulator supports several advanced modeling features such as finite capacity regions, load-dependent service times, bursty processes, fork-and-join nodes, and implements spectral estimation for analysis of simulative results.
