    PAARGAMAN: Passenger Demand Provoked (On-The-Fly) Routing Of Intelligent Public Transport Vehicle with Dynamic Route Updation, Generation, and Suggestion

    Demand-based public bus service meets the need of passengers with less money, time, and resources by reducing the number of private vehicles on the road. In contrast, dynamic real-time demand-based routing faces challenges like elevated travel time due to the requested assignment based on the paths and vehicle availability. Hence, this research introduces a novel framework named Passenger Influence Bus Service-Intelligent Public Transport System (PIBS-IPTS) for efficient routing of available vehicles based on the demand of passengers. For this, optimal paths are elected from the known routes of the general vehicle through the Cuckoo Search (CS) optimization algorithm. Then efficient route prediction is employed by the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for passenger flow. Here, the unavailability of the passenger request, such as source location or Destination locations, or the unavailability of both locations is updated while employing the path generation process. The path generation process ensures the reduction of request drops generated by the passenger, which elevates the usage of the general bus service. Here, for the optimal selection of routes from the identified routing paths, a multi-objective function based on traffic density, route condition, and route mobility is employed for the selection of a near-optimal global solution. The method’s performance is analyzed using MAE, RMSE, and MAPE and obtained the best values of 0.69, 0.72, and 0.74, respectively

    A multi-functional simulation platform for on-demand ride service operations

    On-demand ride services or ride-sourcing services have been experiencing fast development in the past decade. Various mathematical models and optimization algorithms have been developed to help ride-sourcing platforms design operational strategies with higher efficiency. However, due to cost and reliability issues (implementing an immature algorithm for real operations may result in system turbulence), it is commonly infeasible to validate these models and train/test these optimization algorithms within real-world ride sourcing platforms. Acting as a useful test bed, a simulation platform for ride-sourcing systems will be very important to conduct algorithm training/testing or model validation through trails and errors. While previous studies have established a variety of simulators for their own tasks, it lacks a fair and public platform for comparing the models or algorithms proposed by different researchers. In addition, the existing simulators still face many challenges, ranging from their closeness to real environments of ride-sourcing systems, to the completeness of different tasks they can implement. To address the challenges, we propose a novel multi-functional and open-sourced simulation platform for ride-sourcing systems, which can simulate the behaviors and movements of various agents on a real transportation network. It provides a few accessible portals for users to train and test various optimization algorithms, especially reinforcement learning algorithms, for a variety of tasks, including on-demand matching, idle vehicle repositioning, and dynamic pricing. In addition, it can be used to test how well the theoretical models approximate the simulated outcomes. Evaluated on real-world data based experiments, the simulator is demonstrated to be an efficient and effective test bed for various tasks related to on-demand ride service operations

    A Novel Chimp Optimized Linear Kernel Regression (COLKR) Model for Call Drop Prediction in Mobile Networks

    Call failure can be caused by a variety of factors, including inadequate cellular infrastructure, undesirable system structuring, busy mobile phone towers, changing between towers, and many more. Outdated equipment and networks worsen call failure, and installing more towers to improve coverage might harm the regional ecosystems. In the existing studies, a variety of machine learning algorithms are implemented for call drop prediction in the mobile networks. But it facing problems in terms of high error rate, low prediction accuracy, system complexity, and more training time. Therefore, the proposed work intends to develop a new and sophisticated framework, named as, Chimp Optimized Linear Kernel Regression (COLKR) for predicting call drops in the mobile networks. For the analysis, the Call Detail Record (CDR) has been collected and used in this framework. By preprocessing the attributes, the normalized dataset is constructed using the median regression-based filtering technique. To extract the most significant features for training the classifier with minimum processing complexity, a sophisticated Chimp Optimization Algorithm (COA) is applied. Then, a new machine learning model known as the Linear Kernel Regression Model (LKRM) has been deployed to predict call drops with greater accuracy and less error. For the performance assessment of COLKR, several machine learning classifiers are compared with the proposed model using a variety of measures. By using the proposed COLKR mechanism, the call drop detection accuracy is improved to 99.4%, and the error rate is reduced to 0.098%, which determines the efficiency and superiority of the proposed system

    Management And Security Of Multi-Cloud Applications

    Single cloud management platform technology has reached maturity and is quite successful in information technology applications. Enterprises and application service providers are increasingly adopting a multi-cloud strategy to reduce the risk of cloud service provider lock-in and cloud blackouts and, at the same time, get the benefits like competitive pricing, the flexibility of resource provisioning and better points of presence. Another class of applications that are getting cloud service providers increasingly interested in is the carriers\u27 virtualized network services. However, virtualized carrier services require high levels of availability and performance and impose stringent requirements on cloud services. They necessitate the use of multi-cloud management and innovative techniques for placement and performance management. We consider two classes of distributed applications – the virtual network services and the next generation of healthcare – that would benefit immensely from deployment over multiple clouds. This thesis deals with the design and development of new processes and algorithms to enable these classes of applications. We have evolved a method for optimization of multi-cloud platforms that will pave the way for obtaining optimized placement for both classes of services. The approach that we have followed for placement itself is predictive cost optimized latency controlled virtual resource placement for both types of applications. To improve the availability of virtual network services, we have made innovative use of the machine and deep learning for developing a framework for fault detection and localization. Finally, to secure patient data flowing through the wide expanse of sensors, cloud hierarchy, virtualized network, and visualization domain, we have evolved hierarchical autoencoder models for data in motion between the IoT domain and the multi-cloud domain and within the multi-cloud hierarchy
