Am Beginn der Entwicklung einer Anwendung (App) für Android steht die Entscheidung, welche Plattform-Versionen unterstützt und welche Features angeboten werden. Das Ziel dieser Fachstudie ist es, bei dieser Entscheidung zu unterstützen. Hierzu werden als Erstes die Marktverteilung, sowie wichtige Teile des Android-Betriebsystems, des Android-SDKs und des Java-Frameworks beleuchtet. Anschließend werden nicht nur wichtige Abwägungen aufgezeigt und diskutiert, sondern auch relevante Features der Android-Plattform herausgearbeitet, kategorisiert und bewertet. Die Bewertung berücksichtigt hierbei auch die Entwicklung der Features, um einen direkten Vergleich der Plattform-Versionen zu ermöglichen. Dadurch versetzt dieses Dokument den Leser in die Lage, eine ausgewogene und begründete Entscheidung für eine bestimmte Plattform-Version zu treffen

Politicians, columnists and talk show guests __ anyone and everyone who appears in the public arena __ might at times be accused of talking rubbish. But what is rubbish? The criteria are not always clear. This problem is characteristic of modernity. In former times, the chatterbox was literally sick of talking. But due to the fast passed media developments of the last two centuries, it is no longer obvious who has a right to speak and who does not. Control is no longer possible. This also applies to modern literature. Literature no longer determines what constitutes an acceptable use of language and in response, now claims the right to chatter too. Literature uses the residue of speech for example to test whether it is possible to un-talk language. The surprising conclusion is that this is far from simple. Even the highest degrees of bullshit are not yet devoid of all meaning. In addition to this, literature presents extreme situations in which the speakers have no alternative but to keep chattering, even when they are prepared to assume their societal obligations. In our interaction with digital systems, we produce a great deal of data every day, which can be used for economic purposes as well as for political purposes. While democratic systems in Europe are looking for ways to deal with these personal traces as securely, anonymously and effectively as possible, data can also be used for political and social control, of which China is an example. This anthology contains contributions on current questions about opportunities and dangers of the political use of data.
