Fredkin Gates for Finite-valued Reversible and Conservative Logics
The basic principles and results of Conservative Logic introduced by Fredkin
and Toffoli on the basis of a seminal paper of Landauer are extended to
d-valued logics, with a special attention to three-valued logics. Different
approaches to d-valued logics are examined in order to determine some possible
universal sets of logic primitives. In particular, we consider the typical
connectives of Lukasiewicz and Godel logics, as well as Chang's MV-algebras. As
a result, some possible three-valued and d-valued universal gates are described
which realize a functionally complete set of fundamental connectives.Comment: 57 pages, 10 figures, 16 tables, 2 diagram
A note on drastic product logic
The drastic product is known to be the smallest -norm, since whenever . This -norm is not left-continuous, and hence it
does not admit a residuum. So, there are no drastic product -norm based
many-valued logics, in the sense of [EG01]. However, if we renounce standard
completeness, we can study the logic whose semantics is provided by those MTL
chains whose monoidal operation is the drastic product. This logic is called
in [NOG06]. In this note we justify the study of this
logic, which we rechristen DP (for drastic product), by means of some
interesting properties relating DP and its algebraic semantics to a weakened
law of excluded middle, to the projection operator and to
discriminator varieties. We shall show that the category of finite DP-algebras
is dually equivalent to a category whose objects are multisets of finite
chains. This duality allows us to classify all axiomatic extensions of DP, and
to compute the free finitely generated DP-algebras.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure
Notes on divisible MV-algebras
In these notes we study the class of divisible MV-algebras inside the
algebraic hierarchy of MV-algebras with product. We connect divisible
MV-algebras with -vector lattices, we present the divisible hull as
a categorical adjunction and we prove a duality between finitely presented
algebras and rational polyhedra
Nonlinear Models of Neural and Genetic Network Dynamics:\ud \ud Natural Transformations of Łukasiewicz Logic LM-Algebras in a Łukasiewicz-Topos as Representations of Neural Network Development and Neoplastic Transformations \ud
A categorical and Łukasiewicz-Topos framework for Algebraic Logic models of nonlinear dynamics in complex functional systems such as Neural Networks, Cell Genome and Interactome Networks is introduced. Łukasiewicz Algebraic Logic models of both neural and genetic networks and signaling pathways in cells are formulated in terms of nonlinear dynamic systems with n-state components that allow for the generalization of previous logical models of both genetic activities and neural networks. An algebraic formulation of variable next-state/transfer functions is extended to a Łukasiewicz Topos with an N-valued Łukasiewicz Algebraic Logic subobject classifier description that represents non-random and nonlinear network activities as well as their transformations in developmental processes and carcinogenesis.\u
