Proposal to Implement 5S in a PIM Gym Equipment Company

The Manaus Industrial Pole follows the worldwide trend of engagement on the issue of continuous quality improvement, especially with regard to the organization of work and cleaning environments. From this perspective, the company G. Equipamentos sought to improve its production process with the application of the 5S program, making it a more competitive company against others. This article basically describes the fundamentals, concepts and benefits of the implementation of the 5S program in the company G. Equipamentos at Manaus Industrial Pole - PIM, in the field of gymnastics and body equipment manufacturing. It was used a case study based research to carry out this project, as the objectives, we searched for a qualitative research, seeking to elucidate the data and solutions pointed by the quality tools used in the project

Market Shares, Consumer Ignorance and the Reciprocal Termination Charges

The aim of this paper is to study different regulatory effects on termination charges and social welfare. We employ a framework with a fixed network and two mobile networks competing in a market to study the following regulatory regimes: collusive and social welfaremaximising reciprocity, uniform termination charge, asymmetric regulation, and direct calling price. We incorporate the idea of partial consumer ignorance when calling to a mobile user and allow the network operator to discriminate between on-net and off-net calls by setting differential calling prices. Compared to the uniform termination charge and asymmetric regulation, it is shown in this paper that the regulator can improve social welfare, without too much intervention, by imposing reciprocity on termination charges. We also find that with stronger consumer ignorance the regulator is more capable of improving social welfare. Further we show that, depending upon the extent of consumer ignorance, direct regulation of calling prices may be a welfare-improving alternative over regulation of termination charges.Telecommunications; Consumer ignorance; Termination Charges, Regulation

New CDK8 inhibitors as potential anti-leukemic agents – Design, synthesisand biological evaluation

Cyclin-dependent kinase 8 (CDK8) plays a vital role in regulating cell transcription either through its association with the mediator complex or by the phosphorylation of transcription factors. CDK8-mediated activation of oncogenes has proved to be important in a variety of cancer types including hematological malignancies. We have designed and synthesized a series of new synthetic steroids. The compounds were evaluated as CDK8 inhibitors in vitro. The three most potent compounds exhibit Kd-values towards CDK8 in the low nanomolar range (3.5–18 nM). Furthermore, the compounds displayed selectivity for CDK8 in a panel of 465 different kinases. On default priors for robust Bayesian estimation with divergences

This paper presents objective priors for robust Bayesian estimation against outliers based on divergences. The minimum $\gamma$-divergence estimator is well-known to work well estimation against heavy contamination. The robust Bayesian methods by using quasi-posterior distributions based on divergences have been also proposed in recent years. In objective Bayesian framework, the selection of default prior distributions under such quasi-posterior distributions is an important problem. In this study, we provide some properties of reference and moment matching priors under the quasi-posterior distribution based on the $\gamma$-divergence. In particular, we show that the proposed priors are approximately robust under the condition on the contamination distribution without assuming any conditions on the contamination ratio.
