Nonlinear modelling and optimal control via Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy techniques: A quadrotor stabilization
Using the principles of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy modelling allows the integration of flexible fuzzy approaches and rigorous mathematical tools of linear system theory into one common framework. The rule-based T-S fuzzy model splits a nonlinear system into several linear subsystems. Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) controller synthesis uses these T-S fuzzy model rules. The resulting fuzzy controller is nonlinear, based on fuzzy aggregation of state controllers of individual linear subsystems. The system is optimized by the linear quadratic control (LQC) method, its stability is analysed using the Lyapunov method. Stability conditions are guaranteed by a system of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) formulated and solved for the closed loop system with the proposed PDC controller. The additional GA optimization procedure is introduced, and a new type of its fitness function is proposed to improve the closed-loop system performance.Web of Science71110
Nonlinear Pseudo State-Feedback Controller Design for Affine Fuzzy Large-Scale Systems with H∞ Performance
Acord transformatiu CRUE-CSICThis paper treats robust controller design for Affine Fuzzy Large-Scale Systems (AFLSS) composed of Takagi-Sugeno-Kang type fuzzy subsystems with offset terms, disturbances, uncertainties, and interconnections. Instead of fuzzy parallel distributed compensation, a decentralized nonlinear pseudo state-feedback is developed for each subsystem to stabilize the overall AFLSS. Using Lyapunov stability, sufficient conditions with low codemputational effort and free gains are derived in terms of matrix inequalities. The proposed controller guarantees asymptotic stability, robust stabilization, and H∞ control performance of the AFLSS. A numerical example is given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach

The time delay is assumed to be infinitely distributed in the discrete-time domain, and the uncertain parameters are norm-bounded. By using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, sufficient conditions are derived for ensuring the exponential stability as well as the H infin performance for the closed-loop fuzzy control system. It is also shown that the controller gain can be characterized in terms of the solution to a set of LMIs, which can be easily solved by using standard software packages. A simulation example is exploited in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedures
Revisiting port performance measurement: A hybrid multi-stakeholder framework for the modelling of port performance indicators
This study develops a new port performance measurement model by taking the perspectives from different port stakeholders. The novelty lies in the modelling of interdependencies among port performance measures, and the combination of weights of interdependent measures with both qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the measures from multiple stakeholders for quantitative port performance measurement. It represents an effective performance measurement tool and offers a diagnostic instrument for performance evaluation and/or monitoring of ports and terminals so as to satisfy different requirements of various port stakeholders in a flexible manner. © 201
