Rad je prikaz i komentar teorije semantičke informacije koju Floridi iznosi u dva temeljna teksta: Semantičke koncepcije informacije (2011) i Osnove teorije snaĆŸne semantičke informacije (2004). Prvi tekst donosi pregled dosadaĆĄnjih ideja koje čine okvir za filozofsku analizu informacije i prikazuje glavne teze Floridijeve teorije semantičke informacije. Drugi tekst predstavlja iskorak iz filozofske u znanstvenu teoriju tako ĆĄto se primjenom situacijske logike pokuĆĄava dati osnova za kvantificiranje (mjerenje) dviju dimenzija semantičke informacije: netočnosti (engl. inaccuracy) i praznine (engl. vacuity).Luciano Floridi is an Italian philosopher with an Anglo-Saxon career, who started a new philosophical discipline, the philosophy of information (Floridi 2002). As opposed to most authors who deal with this subject, Floridi, in his rich opus, treats information as a broader concept. However, this paper will treat information neither as a social and ethical phenomenon, nor as information and communication technologies. The aim of the paper is to examine information as a subject of philosophical investigation. The paper gives an overview of and a comment on the theory of semantic information that Floridi presented in two core articles: Semantic Conceptions of Information (2011) and Outline of a Theory of Strongly Semantic Information (2004). The first text gives an overview of ideas that form a framework for the philosophical analysis of information and presents the main theses of Floridi’s theory of semantic information. The second text is a step away from the philosophical towards the scientific theory by using situational logic as a basis for quantification (measurement) of two dimensions of semantic information: inaccuracy and vacuity

    Everett's "Many-Worlds" Proposal

Hugh Everett III proposed that a quantum measurement can be treated as an interaction that correlates microscopic and macroscopic systems—particularly when the experimenter herself is included among those macroscopic systems. It has been difficult, however, to determine precisely what this proposal amounts to. Almost without exception, commentators have held that there are ambiguities in Everett’s theory of measurement that result from significant—even embarrassing—omissions. In the present paper, we resist the conclusion that Everett’s proposal is incomplete, and we develop a close reading that accounts for apparent oversights. We begin by taking a look at how Everett set up his project—his method and his criterion of success. Illuminating parallels are found between Everett’s method and then-contemporary thought regarding inter-theoretic reduction. Also, from unpublished papers and correspondence, we are able to piece together how Everett judged the success of his theory of measurement, which completes our account of his intended contribution to the resolution of the quantum measurement problem
