Performance Analysis of Best Relaying Protocol Selection with Interferences at Relays
In this paper, we investigate the performance of selecting the best protocol between amplify and forward (AF) and decode and forward (DF) in multiple relay networks with multiple interferences at relays. In the selection scheme, the best protocol between AF and DF is selected depending on the comparisons of signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) for all source-relay links. All relays measure the received SINR to decide forwarding signal or not. When SINR is above a certain threshold then DF is used otherwise AF is used. Particularly, we develop an accurate mathematical model for best relaying protocol by considering the effect of interferences to our scheme. Firstly, we derive the asymptotic closed form expression for the symbol error rate (SER) for the system under study. Also we derive an upper and lower bound of symbol error rate and show how they were tight with exact SER. Furthermore an approximate expression for the outage probability is derived. Numerical results are finally presented to validate the theoretical analysis with a different number of relays
Power Switching Protocol for Two-way Relaying Network under Hardware Impairments
In this paper, we analyze the impact of hardware impairments at relay node and source node (i.e. imperfect nodes) on network performance by evaluating outage probability based on the effective signal to noise and distortion ratio (SNDR). Especially, we propose energy harvesting protocol at the relay and source nodes, namely, power switching imperfect relay (PSIR) and power switching imperfect source (PSIS). Aiming to determine the performance of energy constrained network, we first derive closed-form expressions of the outage probability and then the throughput can be maximized in delay-limited transmission mode. The simulation results provide practical insights into the impacts of hardware impairments and power switching factors of the energy harvesting protocol on the performance of energy harvesting enabled two-way relaying network
Half-duplex energy harvesting relay network over different fading environment: System performance with effect of hardware impairment
In this paper, we introduce a half-duplex (HD) energy harvesting (EH) relay network over the different fading environment with the effect of hardware impairment (HI). The model system was investigated with the amplify-and-forward (AF) and the power splitting (PS) protocols. The system performance analysis in term of the outage probability (OP), achievable throughput (AT), and bit error rate (BER) were demonstrated with the closed-form expressions. In addition, the power splitting (PS) factor was investigated. We verified the analytical analysis by Monte Carlo simulation with all primary parameters. From the results, we can state that the analytical and simulation results match well with each other.Web of Science911art. no. Unsp 228
Outage Performance Analysis of Multicarrier Relay Selection for Cooperative Networks
In this paper, we analyze the outage performance of two multicarrier relay
selection schemes, i.e. bulk and per-subcarrier selections, for two-hop
orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. To provide a
comprehensive analysis, three forwarding protocols: decode-and-forward (DF),
fixed-gain (FG) amplify-and-forward (AF) and variable-gain (VG) AF relay
systems are considered. We obtain closed-form approximations for the outage
probability and closed-form expressions for the asymptotic outage probability
in the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region for all cases. Our analysis is
verified by Monte Carlo simulations, and provides an analytical framework for
multicarrier systems with relay selection
Energy harvesting based two-way full-duplex relaying network over a Rician fading environment: performance analysis
Full-duplex transmission is a promising technique to enhance the capacity of communication systems. In this paper, we propose and investigate the system performance of an energy harvesting based two-way full-duplex relaying network over a Rician fading environment. Firstly, we analyse and demonstrate the analytical expressions of the achievable throughput, outage probability, optimal time switching factor, and symbol error ratio of the proposed system. In the second step, the effect of various parameters of the system on its performance is presented and investigated. In the final step, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte Carlo simulation. The numerical results proved that the analytical results and the simulation results agreed with each other.Web of Science68112311
ARQ Protocols in Cognitive Decode-and-Forward Relay Networks: Opportunities Gain
In this paper, two novel automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) based protocols were proposed, which exploit coop- eration opportunity inherent in secondary retransmission to create access opportunities. If the signal was not decoded correctly in destination, another user can be acted as a relay to reduce retransmission rounds by relaying the signal. For comparison, we also propose a Direct ARQ Protocol. Specif- ically, we derive the exact closed-form outage probability of three protocols, which provides an effective means to evalu- ate the effects of several parameters. Moreover, we propose a new metric to evaluate the performance improvement for cognitive networks. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations were presented to validate the theory analysis, and a comparison is made among the three protocols
Multisource power splitting energy harvesting relaying network in half-duplex system over block Rayleigh fading channel: System performance analysis
Energy harvesting and information transferring simultaneously by radio frequency (RF) is considered as the novel solution for green-energy wireless communications. From that point of view, the system performance (SP) analysis of multisource power splitting (PS) energy harvesting (EH) relaying network (RN) over block Rayleigh-fading channels is presented and investigated. We investigate the system in both delay-tolerant transmission (DTT), and delay-limited transmission (DLT) modes and devices work in the half-duplex (HD) system. In this model system, the closed-form (CF) expressions for the outage probability (OP), system throughput (ST) in DLT mode and for ergodic capacity (EC) for DTT mode are analyzed and derived, respectively. Furthermore, CF expression for the symbol errors ratio (SER) is demonstrated. Then, the optimal PS factor is investigated. Finally, a Monte Carlo simulation is used for validating the analytical expressions concerning with all system parameters (SP).Web of Science81art. no. 6
Outage Analysis for SWIPT-Enabled Two-Way Cognitive Cooperative Communications
In this paper, we study a cooperative cognitive radio network (CCRN) where
the secondary user-transmitter (SU-Tx) assists bi-directional communication
between a pair of primary users (PUs) following the principle of two-way
relaying. In return, it gets access to the spectrum of the PUs to enable its
own transmission to SU-receiver (SU-Rx). Further, in order to support
sustainable operation of the network, SU-Tx is assumed to harvest energy from
the RF signals received from the PUs, using the technique of simultaneous
wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). Assuming a decode-and-forward
behaviour and power-splitting based relaying protocol at SU-Tx, closed form
expressions for outage probability of PU and SU are obtained. Simulation
results validate our analytical results and illustrate spectrum-efficiency and
energy-efficiency advantages of the proposed system over one-way relaying.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, Submitted to IEEE Transactions on Vehicular
