    Get PDF
This open access book follows the development rules of network technical talents, simultaneously placing its focus on the transfer of network knowledge, the accumulation of network skills, and the improvement of professionalism. Through the complete process from the elaboration of the theories of network technology to the analysis of application scenarios then to the design and implementation of case projects, readers are enabled to accumulate project experience and eventually acquire knowledge and cultivate their ability so as to lay a solid foundation for adapting to their future positions. This book comprises six chapters, which include “General Operation Safety of Network System,” “Cabling Project,” “Hardware Installation of Network System,” “Basic Knowledge of Network System,” “Basic Operation of Network System,” and “Basic Operation and Maintenance of Network System.” This book can be used for teaching and training for the vocational skills certification of network system construction, operation, and maintenance in the pilot work of Huawei’s “1+X” Certification System, and it is also suitable as a textbook for application-oriented universities, vocational colleges, and technical colleges. In the meantime, it can also serve as a reference book for technicians engaged in network technology development, network management and maintenance, and network system integration. As the world’s leading ICT (information and communications technology) infrastructure and intelligent terminal provider, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has covered many fields such as data communication, security, wireless, storage, cloud computing, intelligent computing, and artificial intelligence. Taking Huawei network equipment (routers, switches, wireless controllers, and wireless access points) as the platform, and based on network engineering projects, this book organizes all the contents according to the actual needs of the industry

This report is part of the Prysmian SpA Report and has the aim of valuing our company at 31/12/2022. Our forecast approach is based on the analysis of the single Business Units –Energy, Projects and Telecom –and our findings carried by a Discounted Cash-Flow model led our estimations to a target share price of € 48.12. Hence, it would make the shareholders to benefit of a premium of50.6% as we are confident that the company will exploit growth opportunities from the Energy Transition and the5GandFiberOpticDeployments.Therefore,ourrecommendation is to BUY Prysmian SpA

Analysis of GPON capacity by hybrid splitting-ratio base on customer segmentation for Indonesian market during the Covid-19 pandemic

    Get PDF
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the impact on internet demand is very high throughout the world. In Indonesia, through a survey conducted, broadband users recorded 175 million people or equivalent to 64 % of the population. Based on field observations, the Passive Optical Network (PON) port utility in the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) is presently below 75 %, as opposed to the initial value, which was more than 95 % [1]. Furthermore, it was also found that more than 80 % of IndiHome customers use a maximum bandwidth of 20 Mbps with majority using 10 Mbps, which is very ineffective, especially related to network capacity. Generally, passive Optical Distribution Network (ODN) devices are not optimally used, therefore this research aims to determine the optimization level of the FTTH network by maximizing the available infrastructure capacity. This process was carried out by increasing the associate ratio of 1:32 to 1:64 while taking into account the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) capacity factor and the standard link budget with schemas A, B and C used to obtain adequate efficiency. Scheme A consists of a 1:2 passive splitter in the Optical Distribution Cabinet (ODC) & 1:32 at the Optical Distribution Point (ODP). Scheme B consists of a 1:4 (ODC) & 1:16 (ODP) passive splitter, while scheme C consists of a 1:8 (ODC) & 1:8 (ODP) passive splitter intended for the use of different customer area types. The result showed an increase in network capacity from 32 to 64 per PON port while taking into account the technical quality of the Link Budget. In conclusion, to ensure this solution functions properly, both simulation and direct measurement tests are carried out using the existing networ

    The STAR MAPS-based PiXeL detector

    Get PDF
The PiXeL detector (PXL) for the Heavy Flavor Tracker (HFT) of the STAR experiment at RHIC is the first application of the state-of-the-art thin Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) technology in a collider environment. Custom built pixel sensors, their readout electronics and the detector mechanical structure are described in detail. Selected detector design aspects and production steps are presented. The detector operations during the three years of data taking (2014-2016) and the overall performance exceeding the design specifications are discussed in the conclusive sections of this paper

    SMART GRID COMMUNICATIONS

    Get PDF
Smart grid technologies are starting to be the future of electric power systems. These systems are giving the utilities detailed information about their systems in real time. One of the most challenging things of implementing smart grid applications is employing the communications into the systems. Understanding the available communications can help ease the transition to these smart grid applications. Many of the utility personnel are spending too much time trying to figure out which communication is better for their application or applications. So this thesis presents the different communication types available with discussing the different attributes in which these communication types are going to offer to the utility. Then these communication types are looked such that utilities can quickly understand how to approach the difficult task of obtaining the information from the different smart grid applications by the use of different communication options

Multifactor CES elasticity and productivity growth : a cross-sectional approach

    Get PDF
Sector-wise productivity growth is measured, along with the sectoral elasticity of substitution, under the multifactor CES framework by regressing the growth of factor-wise cost shares against the growth of relative factor prices. We use linked input–output tables for Japan and Korea as the data sources for factor price and cost shares in two temporally distant states. We then construct a multisectoral general equilibrium model using the system of estimated CES unit cost functions and evaluate the economy-wide distribution of exogenous productivity gains in terms of welfare. Further, we examine the differences between models based on a priori elasticities such as the Leontief and the Cobb–Douglas systems
